That--
That wasn't miserable at all. In fact, the egg's reaction wasn't only pleasant, it was welcoming. The set line of Annette's lips relaxed, though her posture remained tense. One friendly egg wasn't enough to completely undo the experience of the rest of the clutch. She removed her hand and breathed in deeply, visibly forcing herself to unwind.
It's okay, Annesk. I'm not leaving.
Good! Annesk's find good wher. Annesk will-- The wher hesitated, not sure what it would do when his handler had another partner. The idea was still unsettling, but he was defending it so fiercely he was beginning to warm to it. Annesk will make it best. Like Annesk. But Annesk more best!
Smiling, ever so slightly, Annette knelt beside the small Virtue Egg extending her hand a second time. This time, she touched it more firmly, her entire hand on the shell. It had seemed to like her company and she wanted that reassurance before moving on to any other egg.

~Virtue and Annette~
Disappointment flared as Annette pulled her hand away, before relaxing as said hand returned. Virtue began to slowly communicate with Annette, asking her not to worry about the other eggs. They were all infants, even Virtue... they were still selfish creatures. It proceeded to send an inquiring thought Annesk's way, asking Annette to quietly explain the Wher to it. Once she was done talking it'd reluctantly usher her on, sending a whispering little thought. It was encouraging her not to give up on the clutch just because of the overabundance of 'bad' eggs.

The confident assurance that Siata would return to the Sin egg invoked a slight twitch of the shoulders, and the uneasy sadness lingered. She shook her head and concentrated on Invidia as the little thing in the egg 'chatted' about its ongoings and those who touched it.
... Definately not for Siata but, man, she rather liked the chattering Awesomest Wherlet. Hopefully Invidia's future Handler wouldn't mind chilling out with Siata, as the smith had no doubt she'd be at least peering at the Wherling once or twice once they've hatched. She rubbed the shell as if it were some sort of good luck penny before murmuring a quick word of luck to the egg, offered an attempt at mental well wishes, before she moved away from Invidia. Calmed by the chipper happiness, Siata squinted back at the Sin egg.
She had no Wher demanding she go and give others a chance, nor one to dissuade her from going and re-touching the black, staring Sin egg. No, Siata possesed stubborness! She would not touch that Sin egg again (not yet, no matter how much the aftermath of sadness quirked her attention). Nope, nope, nope.
Sin, she looked at, sparingly and with a glance before walking to Z and the small, small little egg. Siata blinked, and snorted in good cheer. "Gotta say - Zalmask has some interesting kids." Despite speaking to Z, Siata had her attention on the itty Eve. She licked her lips, once, and moved in to press her palm to the shell, light and soft. So... small.
At least Z could be thankful she didn't wink at him again? Siata flirting could be awkward for the other party if she wasn't their sort.

~Eve and Siata~
Hello, hello, hello! Eve threw itself happily at Siata, chattering away at her as it tried to ask about all the things outside the shell. With it's inability to talk, this was obviously difficult. The unintelligent, forever childish mind inside was so curious, so wanting to know what was outside. Poor little thing would never realize it was probably too small to fully explore the world as it wished! The excited Wherlet sent images of bright flashes of light- it could see the light outside of it's egg due to the thin shell. Wasn't light great? It was so pretty! The distracted Wher cooed from inside the egg, despite not physically making much sound.

Siata grinned with the little Wher's enthusiasm. She'd been born sick and half-dead, pneumonia at birth, and so having a small, maybe badly formed Wher - Well! The ittle thing could end up better then expected, now couldn't it? Interesting kids, indeed. She let the Wher "talk", sending those flashes it could see, and - shards! A vibration?
Noise?
Either way, amusing as anything. Her fingers flexed before the young woman pulled away from the diminutive egglet. She eyed it, and Z, and gave the Goldhandler a brief nod. And then -
Then -
Sin. The mental clutching and the possesiveness, she could do without feeling again, but there was the interesting Handler touching the third revealed egg (it'd be rude, to interrupt), and - She would touch Virtue when Annette moved away. In the meantime, she moved back to Sin and pressed her hand back onto that oddly colored shell, this time with a firm, purposeful air.
Yes, so, she was back. Not permanentlyy, so. So.
Why was she touching an egg that freaked her out so much? ("Morbid curiousity," Jordyn would say.)

Bella felt irritation bite back at her as she pushed at the Ira egg, but it soon relented, pulling back and allowing the other presence to show itself. The sad feeling came back to Bella, much the same as before, but this time pleading, desperate, but for what was unclear. Probably to get out of the egg and away from its overly-controlling counterpart.
And that was another point; how were there two distinctly separate personalities in one egg? Were there two dragonets in the single shell? Or was it a single dragonet with two personalities? She'd seen a person with that once, at the brothel, and had been most intrigued that someone who seemed a genuinely good soul (and quite a sap, to be honest) could change so quickly to something almost completely opposite. But she dismissed that quickly: they were obviously aware of each other, whereas the split man hadn't seemed to be aware of his 'other sides.'
Twins then. How interesting, she thought as the weaker of the two was again quashed by the other, who now seemed to be angry at Bella. Not surprising, she'd one the battle of wills earlier after all, of that was how she saw it. But the anger didn't seem quite genuine, as if it was directed partly somewhere else, and not quite serious about it.
As much as she'd been interested in the sad personality of this egg, she was quite sure that it wouldn't be for her. If it was it probably wouldn't last long, Bella seeming to be a magnet for strange and often scary situations and people. Such was her life. But the Ira, on the other hand, seemed just the type to fight back at the world much as Bella did, and that she liked. A little rebellion went a long way, and she embraced the anger and superiorness of the fiery egg, laughing as she stood, hand still on the shell.
"Of course you matter sweetling. You just keep charming these others," she said, finally leaving the egg for another. She heard a string of violent curses from behind her, attention immediately attracted to see a candidate flying away from an egg. Hang on, she'd not seen that one before. Maybe another buried one? She was intrigued by the candidate's reaction, and would have approached the egg if not for another getting there first. She waited until she was finished (she didn't seem to like it any more than that last, which only bolstered Bella's curiosity) and stepped quickly toward the egg, glaring at any others who would approach and steal her turn at the dark little egg.

~Sin and Siata~
You're back! Joy floods through Sin, before the egg covers it up with a mental scoff. Sin means, of COURSE you're back. The egg radiates smugness, happy that Siata has returned. Well, wasn't Siata going to APOLOGIZE? Running away from Sin like that- so rude. Sin knows that Siata isn't such a coward, silly of her to act in such a way. Sin doesn't drop the mocking amusement, mentally leering at Siata.
~Sin and Bellatrix~
Oh, hello there. Sin's mind reaches out to brush against Bellatrix's, a malevolent presence that seems much older then it actually is. As if Sin had been sealed away for years, instead of mere months. So interested in Sin? Well, of course. Sin reviews Bellatrix's mind, not at all frightened by Superbia. Superbia was nothing compared to Sin, and Sin would crush the silly gold underneath it's heel if Superbia got in it's way.

Well well well, Bella smiled at the reaction from the Sin egg. The thing was practically purring like a feline. She sat back, letting it examine her as she in turn peered at it, or what she could feel of it anyway. It was strange, unlike the others in that it seemed... old. More experienced, though she did not know quite how that could be. Surely it was laid with the rest of Zalmask's clutch so would be the same age, buried and hidden or no? But at least, for once, it didn't flinch away from her memory of the queen egg, and even seemed to be faintly scoffing the gold, assured that it was better than her, despite its relatively tiny size.
There was no hint as to whether the egg liked her or not though, no indication of whether it would consider choosing Bella. Yes? No? Maybe. She would have to settle for that, as she could sense that this egg would not give away its secrets easily.
She removed her hand and stood, ignoring the other woman who was also touching Sin, the one who'd been so keen to back away from it earlier on. Now she headed toward he two green eggs, Invidia and Gula, the little and large sitting near to the queen egg.

~Invidia and Bellatrix~
Why'd ya wait for so long to touch Invidia, miss? Invidia is AWESOME and so much better then those stuffy siblings, so you better touch it! It hesitated at the memory of Superbia, before bolstering. He would never let her hurt Invidia, so Invidia wasn't afraid! The happy egg suddenly let envy flood through it, huffing at Bellatrix. You should have touched Invidia first, Invidia is the best! But that's okay, Invidia forgives you. Oh wait, don't go! Invidia is better then Gula!
~Gula and Bellatrix~
Hi! You came to say hi to Gula? Yay! Gula would totally share Gula's food with Bellatrix, but Gula is stuck in an egg! The happy Wherlet would be bouncing if it was able to, not at all feeling shy. It was feeling energetic, it wanted to play! Curse this shelly prison... Gula would be free of it. You just watch, miss, Gula will beat it up and then Gula will eat! And take a nap.

The company of the virtue egg was still friendly, even consoling. Annette stroked the shell, enjoying the company. There was something behind the friendliness, though. A question? Yes. The egg was curious about something. Annesk, as far as she could tell.
Keeping one hand on the egg she glanced toward her Wher, smiling in his direction. What could be said about Annesk? How could one exchange such a thing? Annesk was her world, her wall, her joy. She tried to explain this, though she didn't speak allowed at first. Instead, she projected her own loneliness, her feeling of disconnection and need.
"He is my light," she whispered. "He reminds me to be a person. He is happy and sweet to remind me how to be."
She allowed her touch to linger for another moment, then remembered her duty. She hadn't come here to touch only one egg. She was here to touch the eggs, and if she was going to do it, she might as well finish. Virtue had steadied her, cemented Annesk's prodding.
She would stand for the clutch and stay at Warden's Weyr. They'd make home here. Perhaps with a new baby to add to their little family.
She approached the Invidia Egg and settled her hand firmly on the surface.

Yes, yes. She'd returned. If not for that initial burst of elation from the little egg and the lack of mental intrusion, Siata would've pulled back again. The evil little Wherling did nothing of the sort, it just felt all smug and smarmy at her, a little twist of HA! Irritating, yes, and she was not a coward, thank you. But she did not tap the egg, nor did the smith talk at it like she had for others.
Sin had it's moment of smugness, and then Siata pulled away slowly. No fear in those fingers! She just had to move on, that was all. No sense getting a gold fist to the face. Virtue next, because the brownhandler flitted off to Invidia (good taste, brownhandler!), and the third hidden egg had been - well. Hidden. She brushed her fingertips over the shell before laying her hand flat. Hello?
