~Acedia and Bujare~
Like it's green sibling, shock flows from Acedia as it is touched. The egg proceeds to pretty much sigh, mentaly shrugging it's nonexistant shoulders. It sent a questioning thought to Bujare, wondering why she bothered with all this. It was so much easier to sleep, instead of touching eggs. What if one doesn't want you? Then it'll have been useless to touch them.
~Invidia and Druen~
Invidia had gotten over it's shock, and now the egg mentally puffed up. HEY YOU, WITH THE FACE! YEAH, YOU! Invidia is AWESOME, you hear!? Wait, wait, you have kittens!? Invidia wants them! You should give them to Invidia! Invidia DESERVES them! Because you know, Invidia is the awesomest egg in the entire clutch.

Druen found the enthusiasm within the egg almost amusing, there was so much want, so much impatience. It was a young mind, certainly, but it did seem to know what it was about. It was confident, proud and seemed to find the idea of kittens amusing. Druen half wished he'd brought one with him; the larger part of him knew it wouldn't have been wise though. This egg seemed to have a strong sense of entitlement and Druen wondered whether that would persist through to adulthood. Curious. Druen smiled, pushing assurances that there would be many small fluffy companions to share, if he were selected.
Smiling he withdrew his hand, and looked about. He carefully stood and then headed over to the Avaritia Egg, placing his palm on the bumpy shell and eyeing its more mellow colour scheme. White, with yellows and tiny flecks of all the other colours. It was nowhere near as in your face as the Invidia Egg, but it was still intriguing.

~Druen and Avaritia~
Avaritia also gives out feelings of want, though it is much more... calm then it's sibling. Druen doesn't really interest it- it hardly stirs underneath his hand. Well, at least at first. It seems to warm up to him rather quickly, invading his mind as it had the woman before him. Then, it decided to show him all the things it wanted him to give it. Mostly herdbeasts.

Annette still wasn't sure she was going to participate in the hatching of the wher clutch. While the idea of having a second wher was an appealing one and Annesk had not been too uncomfortable with the idea, Annette still wavered. Warden's Weyr did not feel like home to her, not like Southern had. Somehow, getting a wher here would feel like making a commitment to the place, admitting that she wouldn't be going back.
Annesk's not go back! Annesk's sad there. Not sad here. Annesk's stay here!
"Even if it means you have to share?" she asked the wher, stroking that familiar brown hide as they made there way to the sands, answering Mama's summons.
Annesk share Annesk's if Annesk's not be sad. There was a bit of grudging disapproval there, Annesk wasn't thrilled at the idea of sharing. But he did like other whers and Annette's lack of social graces meant he didn't get to spend as much time with them as he liked. Perhaps a built in companion wouldn't be all bad.
There were already people on the sands, most the faces familiar from the clutching, if not otherwise. There was another handler, Bujare, she remembered, as well. Annesk waited at the entrance to the sands, settling there, as Annette gave a polite bow in greeting toward Zalmask and Z, who, from the looks of Bujare, would have other things on his mind.
A wher egg touching. Strange. But worth trying. She rather wished she had the memory of touching Annesk's egg, bonding to him had been the start of her real life, as far as she was concerned.
She approached the Luxuria Egg drawn in by the rich colors. Her palm rested firmly on the surface, and she waited for what feelings it might offer her.
Annesk better than that egg. Annesk told her, no longer quite so charmed by them as he had been before. They were pretty, but they weren't supposed to be pretty for his handler.

~Luxuria and Annette~
Like before, Luxuria's presence is a violating and disturbing one. The egg finds something amusing with Annette, and especially with Annesk. But the Wher is soon ignored in favor of the human, the almost feline presence in the shell reaching out to touch her mind and offer something. It's impossible to tell just what Luxuria was offering up, but the infant inside of the decorative shell was an almost alien creature. All that could be known was that is offered fun and pleasure- in a distinctly dark manner.

Ugh. That wasn't pleasant. Annette withdrew her hand, rubbing it on her shirt and not even bothering to be circumspect about the action. Something about the touch of the eggs mind made her skin crawl. There was very little of Annette that resonated with such a creature, and what there may have once been was buried and locked away.
You are better. The reassurance would have come regardless, but it was easy to give in the face of such an unsettling egg. Maybe I should go.
No. Annesk's stay. Annesk share and Annesk's stay. Annesk's not go back. Annesk's not hurt again. Though the wher remained at the entrance of the sands, he shifted, as if attempting to block Annette's exit. It meant blocking everyone else as well, but Annesk was okay with that.
You worry too much. But Annette was smiling, and she moved willingly on to another egg.
This time, it was the Acedia Egg she approached. If picking a pretty one had led to something unsettling, maybe touching an ugly egg was the way to go. Rubbing her hand off on her shirt one last time, as if not wanting to taint this egg with the touch of the other, she laid her hand on its surface.

~Acedia and Annette~
Annette didn't have much luck for eggs. Oh, Acedia reacted all right... with hurt. Annette thought it was ugly? Of course Annette thought it was ugly... why should Acedia bother looking nice? No one would appreciate it... Acedia sinks into dark depression before refusing to acknowledge Annette further, given she hurt the infants feelings.

Druen found the personality of this egg much less forceful. He wondered if this wher was quiet natured, or perhaps timid? He soon changed his mind. As he waited, the wher inside seemed to rummage in his head, a peculiar feeling but not something he shied away from. He wondered if it was curious about him, except it didn't seem to be looking for anything. Instead, it seemed to make itself comfy so it could present him a list of what he wanted. This one didn't wand kittens, this one wanted........food. Possibly. Or it just really, wanted a herdbeast for a friend. Highly dubious it was the latter, he pulled up thoughts of the feeding pens where many a beast could be found.
The eggs so far had been similar, in that they wanted for many things. They were different in their approach, but Druen wondered if this was a common feature for Whers. He withdrew his hand and stood, moving on to yet another egg. Were all whers self focused? He supposed, in a creature that could live just as well with or without a handler, that it was a good survival trait. At least these whers seemed receptive to people, which was encouraging. It hopefully meant they'd remain in the prison, bond to a handler and the island would gain more workers and help with night patrols.
Druen knew that a wher would mean a complete change in his life, but he could probably still help with the animals here and there. It was mostly guarding and patrolling at night that would become his life, and the other handlers his new social circle. That wouldn't be a bad thing either, he'd have more people to talk to and he liked the handlers. They were irritable in the day but that was to be expected really, otherwise he found them to be a likeable sort.
Kneeling beside the Ira egg Druen placed his hand on the fascinating shell. He preferred wher eggs to dragon ones, purely because he found the textures and patterning made for a more impressive sight. He was possibly a little odd in that respect, but it didn't bother him. This egg, seemed almost to be alive, bathed in fire, and Druen wondered if the Wher inside would be just as vibrant.

Oh, come now. Fussing over something like appearance? Shards, Annette was nothing to look at. But you accepted it, and moved on. Anyway, if being plain had drawn Annette over, maybe it was a good thing.
Except, of course, that the egg didn't much seem to want to meet her. So, maybe not.
Annette gave a little shrug and patted the egg briefly.
All eggs pretty. Annesk's pretty. Be nice. scolded her wher. Annette couldn't quite repress a quick little smile.
You're a liar, Annesk. We're neither of us lovely. Maybe if we were she would have-- And that was a line of thought she wasn't ready to explore.
Annesk's touch next egg! A rush of words to distract her, and Annette decided it was best to obey.
She approached the Avaritia Egg not entirely sure what to think of this one. It was certainly shiny. That was a neutral thought, right? Best not to hurt more feelings. She touched the shell.

~Ira and Druen~
Ira doesn't seem to care much about Druen. The man didn't interest the fast paced and furious egg, but he didn't anger it either. It still seethed the rage that Lucine had caused, but it did not lash out at Druen. It merely shared it's boredom with him before attempting to usher him on. Maybe he should go touch one of the other eggs? The egg soon grows annoyed, however. Why is Druen still touching it? Ira is BORED by Druen! That means he leaves~
~Anette and Avaritia~
Avaritia has only slight interest in Anette. At first a flare of excitement starts, glad to find a human that could give it things. Then, it tracked down the bond with Annesk. The egg recoiled. It wanted to own it's Handler completely, Annette was already partially owned. Quite a few eggs on the sands would happily share, but Avaritia would not. It seems almost mournful as it shoos Annette away, trying to point her to one of the more liberal eggs.

Smug feline emotion, Siata did well with. She flinched at the intrusion of the future girls anger, fingers twitching on the shell of the egg, and remained quiet to it's onslaught. Of course, of course, touch the Queen first but the Invidia had been so happy to be first. Siata wrinkled her crooked nose before she pulled her hand away from the shimmering egg.
"Feisty beasts." Siata shuddered, her fingertips twitching. At least the Queen wasn't meant for her (Oh, shard, she hoped not) and with that cheerful thought in mind, the Smithcrafter scooted herself towards the next egg on the list. The Acedia Egg was it, and Siata screwed her eyes up before touching it.
This is why she didn't do dragons, or flits. Whers were pretty sharding awesome, moreso than the beasts that could actually fly.

~Acedia and Siata~
Acedia brightened as Siata touched it, despite knowing she wasn't for it. It knew just what kind of Wher would fit her, and the egg gave off this feeling in waves. As if it knew Siata's future. However, weary and exhausted emotions flooded into the egg soon after, and it sends her a questioning though. Maybe Siata would stick around for a bit and take a nap with Acedia? It'd be nice, promise! Another feeling drifts to Siata as she touches Acedia however, offended rage. Coming from Acedia?

Alright then. That was clearly another wher that wouldn't suit Annette. The list of eggs she felt she might do well with was currently at zero, and she'd already touched three. But, this was the first time she'd ever touched wher eggs, and she was willing to believe that the babies in person might be more personable than the eggs themselves had been. If not, well, she didn't have to double bond. She didn't even have to come to the hatching.
At least this egg hadn't seemed unsettling, it just clearly hadn't wanted her. And, if Annette wasn't one to particularly enjoy rejection, she at least knew it when she felt it. Next egg, right. Moving along.
It was the Gula Egg that next drew her eye. Maybe it was the odd shape that did it. It was different from any other wher egg she'd seen. And different was at least interesting. She touched the shell, but at this point, she was not quite so receptive as she'd been with the last three. She was ready for something bad to happen. Expecting it, even.

~Gula and Annette~
Gula brightened immediately when Annette touched it, mentally squealing and launching into excited communication. Or, as much communication as an egg could manage. Hello, do you want to be friends!? Oh, don't worry about the eggs not liking you! Gula is SURE there is someone on these sands that will fit you... Amusement also drifts to Annette, smug and almost mocking. What WAS she doing? Silly human.

Happy egg! Siata grinned with the pleasant greeting from the Acedia egg, her fingers curling against it's shell. Always good to have a happy hatchling - even if it were not the one for her?
"How do you know you aren't for me, critter?" Siata grinned, tapped at the egg with the calloused pad of her finger. When she asked, along came the sleepy thoughts, the weary and the tired, and they earned the egg a gentle rub of her palm.
She twitched away. Right. When the anger kicked in, Siata knew to release the egg, and release she did with that flicker of hands and a step back. Maybe that was why it wasn't the egg for her - multiple minds shoved into one little egg?
Triplet egg?
That'd be cool.
It was then that Siata, silly, stupid Siata, put her hands on the Ira Egg. Oops.
