Lexine
Name: Lexine. She introduces herself as Lex, though.
Age: Nineteen.
Gender: Female.
Prisoner: Nope.
Crime: None.
Craft/Rank: Journeywomen in healing, intending to specialize in Whers.
Appearance: Lex is a rather short individual, though, don't tell her that. She's around 5''3 at the shoulders. Lex tries to look the least feminine as she possibly can. Her her is basically orange with faint reddish streaks, cut choppily and short. She has a half-assed set of bangs that she's often seen struggling to control. Her face is dotted by freckles over her nose, and her eyes are a light cobalt. Her skin is really pale, a creamy ivory. She has burns that start at her upper arm and end at right before her wrist. What's a good trauma story without scars, am I right? Bandages cover said scars and have little doodles and drawings on them of all sorts of Firelizards, Whers, and Dragons. Her ears are pierced, and she has three silver balls on her ear lobes and two silver cuff cartilage ones on her right ear. She pierced them herself. Ouch.
Personality: Lex is, if nothing else, awkward. She doesn't communicate well, if ever, and often stumbles over her words like a blabbering idiot. If she could actually get a sentence out, then she could actually be even a bit imposing. But, no. Sentences are really, just not her thing.
She isn't fond of speaking, and she's quiet and soft spoken. She has a rather odd, quirky voice. It's more girly than her appearance. She can actually sing pretty good, and she tends to for patients that she's taking care of as well as her pets. If you make her speak, she'll more than likely be pretty grumpy about it and sound unhappy. Unless she's talking with the rider of a patient. But that's not really force.
Though, if needed she can stand up for herself well enough. She has a little fire and zest, it just takes a little time to kick in. She isn't exactly strong muscle-wise. But she is sharp as a blade with what little words she actually manages to speak. Well, when she's not stuttering over them.
She's friendly if she warms up to you, otherwise it's the icy shoulder for you! Believe it or not, she's rather possessive. Messing with the people she cares about is like messing with her, and that just is NOT cool. Her possessiveness can only go far, because if the danger is just too much, she'll be the 'smart one' and back down if needed.
If warmed up to, she can actually be rather childish and silly. She likes the outdoors, and enjoys the fresh scents of the morning and pretty much anything outdoorsy. She's peculiar and still might be caught having little fantasies and playing pretend, and that her Firelizards are her noble sidekicks. She never really had a childhood, so she's getting all those bottled up feelings out now. She'd never do it in front of anyone though. And when I say playing pretend, I mean hardcore.
She's skittish toward new people, and she's always anxious about how they will treat her. She's had some trauma, and has severe trust issues. The only way to get her to even let you hang out around her is a show kindness. If you're mean, she'll have a really hard time getting used to you. When an individual is unfair during her work, she can get a bit snarky and have some odd, playful remarks. She's clever, though. She's been known to avoid contact with people by sneaking away like as snake. The feisty-ish chick is actually got some interesting tricks up her hypothetical sleeves. Actually, she's an odd mixture between a snake and a rat.
Lex gets along with animals better, and it seems as though she connects well with anything BUT humans. She smiles a lot, just not in the public eye. She adores her firelizards and spends a lot of time pampering them with what she can. When she's healing she loses the awkwardness and gets down to business. She becomes really serious and focuses solely on what she's doing, no matter what the circumstance.
Though, if you happen to catch her in a good mood, she can actually be really silly. She'll sing, and giggle, and dance around like a fool. She likes jokes and music. Those two things together will result in one happy little lady. Though, good luck with that.
History: Lexine's point of misery began with her birth. Her mother was always an ill woman and couldn't quite do anything besides be an icon of comfort and the small, faltering glimpses of warmth. Often would her mother weave tales with happy endings with wistful tones and lies. She had a frightful first five to seven years of her life, where her dad was an alcoholic and was abusive to both her and her mother. He'd often beat her, as well as her mother. She'd learn that she needed to be obsolete in the household unless someone needed her for something. Like some sorts of unfair housework.
When she turned seven, her dad set her arms on fire after she accidentally spilled a drink after he'd lost some sort of bet, being in the wrong place at the horrible time. Her mother shipped her away to the healer hall to save her several hours after putting the flames out. In a fury of rage, her father ended her mother's life. Upon getting to the hall, her father assaulted her once more in an attempt to stop her from going. Seeing the issue, a watchwher ran to her defense and killed the father. Upon this, she began to see Whers as a protective figure, and revered them even over dragons. The overall choice of Dragons over Whers now is a confusion to her, and something she may never come to understand completely.
Upon living in the hall, she was relentlessly bullied. Whether for stuttering or her infatuation for Whers, it could be brutal. She began to mistrust people even more, now keeping imaginary friends and pretending she was someone else altogether. She would even make up stories about the origin of her burns, after peers would rip the bandages off to sneer and mock about it.
When becoming a Senior Apprentice, a group of younger students brought a homeless clutch of firelizards to her attention. Unfortunately, upon inspection only one of the eggs had survived. As she went to bring it to a teacher, it ironically hatched in her hands. That was the beginning of her first true friendship: the noble and aloof Tart. She firmly believes it was a bond that was meant to be.
At this point she's a Journeywoman in the studies of Wher healing, and has a fascination with herbs. And tea. There is always..ALWAYS time for tea.
Other stuff: Lexine is likes things that are different. If the majority of a population say one thing, then she'll do the opposite. Not orders, of course. She'll follow those. She also carries a small rabbit pelt purse, which holds a wooden flute and some strange odds and ends from her travels. She can also carve decently and enjoys it.
OOC Stuff- I have Dyslexic Dysgraphia, so I apologize in advanced with any terribly spelled words. I'll stick to spell check, I just wanted to throw that out there.
Pets
Name: Tart
Species:Firelizard
Color: Blue
Appearance: Tart is light blue in color, like the color of the sky. He has dark blue rings along his tail. He has a narrow face and two little lime green eyes. He's petire, but at a decent size. He has large, clumsy wings. Actually, he's just clumsy in general.
Personality: Derpy, not very smart. Tends to get into trouble, he also walks and flies into things a lot. He's a sweetheart and loving, unless you make him mad. Then he gets kinda prissy. He's actually pretty pampered.
Name: Plum
Species:Firelizard
Color: Blue
Appearance: Fresh Fish is the very smallest of the clutch -- he isn't even the size of a small green, oh no; he's around the proportions of a white. His wings are perhaps the best part of him: they're very well shaped and allow him a manouverability that many larger firelizards lack even despite their generally small size. His blue is fairly uniform and drab save for on his neck, where three dark blue lines are splashed onto his skin on each side -- the gills he should have but wasn't born with in a cruel twist of fate.
Personality: Though he is built for grace and speed in the air, Fresh Fish adores the water. He can often be found playing in any available hot springs and mineral baths -- hell, if you leave your cup of water unattended long enough, he'll be in it before you can say 'shards, not again'. He has a lust for life that borders on the dangerous and has a habit of believing he can do things he clearly can't -- and then somehow managing to accomplish them. Like the iconic salmon swimming upriver against all odds, Fresh Fish will stop at nothing to prove that despite his small size, he is a force to be reckoned with and life better get ready for him.
LEXISK
Color: Green
Egg: Horror Story Egg
Personality: Lexisk is big, she be bad, she be BAMF in all ways known to all. She can take in all of the bad stuff in the world and filter it out without a
care in the world and want even more out of the world. There is nothing out there that scares her, Lexisk taking it all on with a roll of the shoulders and a
snap of her (for now toothless) jaws.
She is not the brightest wher in the entire world, nor is she the bravest, but Lexisk simply does not care. She has no cares to give and no intention to try
to make up for that. Where her handler may have issues approaching people and facing conflicts, Lexisk takes the world in an 'as it goes' sort of mentality and
strives to keep her handler out of those situations. Lexisk is a watch-wher. She is aware of that fact and likes to roll with it. Going without is not a possibility!
Like all whers, Lexisk is at home in the darkness and trolls the prisons with cheerful abandon. The poor prisoners didn't do anything wrong to her, why should she torment them? On that end, they are prisoners. If they mess with her, well, then, they deserve it, don't they? Of course they do.
She adores her handler in all things possible, seeking to be the best watch-wher out there. And if that means facing down demons and monsters and scaries, all the better that she has absolutely no concept of fear, isn't it?
Appearance: Normal sized for a green, lexisk is a bright sea-foam green with lighter tones at her claws. Her wings are longer then most whers, her hide pitted and mottled as the rest of them. She is slim in comparison to her mother, lean muscle, and brute strength behind it all.
