The worst part of being a pseudo-apprentice, F'ox thought, was that he was the one doing all the errands. He hadn't learned enough to be actually useful in healing, and he'd been delegated to the job of running around and bringing things to the healers who were working in detox. Even worse in that no one really felt like they needed to respect F'ox in the least. He was a greenrider for those that were still caught on tradition, and a former prisoner to those that weren't. No one went out of their way to be cruel, but they didn't try to help the busy F'ox either.
So, while on the way to delivering a stack of tools to the infirmary, no one stopped to help F'ox when someone bumped into him and sent the tools scattering over the floor. His ears burned as he kneeled to pick them up, ignoring Snowth's frantic questioning of what was wrong in his head.
Nothing was wrong. It was okay. Totally. Rage was screaming in fury, held back only by Crypt having a good grip on her tail with his teeth. Obviously she didn't think it was okay.

Lexine wasn't concerned very much with those around her, cobalt eyes set forewords and emotionless to almost all but Tart. Said Flit was flying around by her head, and with every few feet he narrowly avoided colliding with some random person's face. Oh joy. But of course, the short little woman was perfectly fine with her companion. It was Tart, who first noticed the stranger scattering to pick his belongings off the ground. The little blue guy sped up, landing beside the fellow and tilting his head in curiosity. Great. Now she had to be social. Yeah, thanks buddy. Lexi sighed and crouched next to the man, moving to help him gather his goods. Ugh. Now she'd probably have to talk to him. Her little flitty boy landed up on her shoulders, looking rather smug in his own pleased, derpy way. In Tart's eyes? Mission: Accomplished.

Rage screeched angrily at the other firelizard, swatting a paw at him and trying to warn him away with growls. Crypt nodded to the blue, still holding back Rage. Ice, for his part in all of this, had fallen asleep on F'ox's shoulder like the good little blue he was. Ice knows how it works.
F'ox looked up in surprise as a woman aided him, eyes glancing over her for a moment. No rider knots, but she did have healer knots. He forced a smile, eyes refocusing on the ground. "Y-you don't have to help, miss Healer.... I've got it under control." F'ox wasn't willing to talk either, his eyes wide and frightened and darting around for a possible escape. "But... thank you." People didn't usually stop to help him.

Stupid little Tart being a derpy little antagonistic jerkbag. And look, now she had to talk go someone! Shards. Lexine glanced at the stranger, taking in his features for only a moment before looking back at the ground. "O-Oh, no. I i-insist on it," she gave a weak smile. What is this, stutter fest? Looks like someone forgot to send out the invitations. "I-I'm not busy, s-so I figured I'd h-help," she a-added in a vaguely friendly way. See, isn't the stuttering contagious? Her hand moved to brush some stray hairs out of her eyes, which for a moment darted to look at her bandages. All tight, nothing showing. That was good. Lexi's little buddy, moved around on her shoulders. He played with her hair, rather annoyingly at that. Tug, tug. She swatted at him gently, and he got the hint. What? It's his way of showing affection!

F'ox just stared at her for a moment, obviously surprised by the charity. Two turns ago, he would have been suspicious and frightened. Now, he had only a sudden jolt of fear before he calmed down. She couldn't hurt him. No one could hurt him, not ever again. At least, that was what F'ox kept telling himself while he gathered what he had been carrying.
"... Thanks." F'ox mumbled, looking away from her. His hands shivered just a bit as he stood, having gathered what he was carrying in his arms. Except for what Lexine was holding, he had everything. "I'm F'ox of green Snowth. Apprentice dragonhealer." Well, that was the easiest term for what F'ox was. It wasn't like he could explain what he really was in the middle of a busy hall.

Hm. A friendly male. Not something she was used to. Actually, friendly people in general. Lexi pondered for several long moments before she noticed him rising. She decided she'd do the same, and moved to hand him the belongings. D'aaw. He was taller than her. But then, wasn't everyone? "I'm Lexine, J-Journey Woman Wher h-healer," she noted, "But p-please, call me Lex," Lexine was too...Feminine for her liking. Tart, on the other hand, was not one for normal introductions. He sat curled up on her shoulder, staring at the stranger with his crazy little eyes. Lalalala~ The world was just his playground! He'd be a perfect musical character. "T-The little flit is Tart."

F'ox smiled down at the girl, trying his best not to start shaking like a leaf. Especially when she turned out to be his superior. "Um... I've got to go to the detox room." F'ox told her, his voice quavering though his stutter had disappeared. He'd been trained out of stuttering for too long, and it only very rarely slipped into his voice even now that he was free to speak however he liked.
"The green is Rage, the blue is Ice, and the bronze is Crypt." Ice chirped a greeting, regarded Tart with intelligent eyes.

Lexine, unlike F'ox, was not trained out of the terrible habit of stuttering. Superior, inferior, the two words didn't mean much to the girl. "Ah, I s-see! It's n-nice to meet some f-friendly," she said quietly, "It'd be n-nice to sit and t-talk about firelizards sometimes," she invited non-chelantly.
Lex glanced around for a moment, "W-Well, I better be l-letting you get back to work," she said as she bowed slightly.

F'ox smiled, despite himself. "Ah! Yes, we'll have to meet up when i'm done working." F'ox offered her an apologetic smile, especially since he'd really rather be chatting about firelizards right now. He didn't like getting bumped into and ordered about all day, much as he enjoyed helping others and keeping himself busy.
"Goodbye!" Then, F'ox beat a hasty retreat to get back to work.
