(Nana Visitor. Because I'm a proud Star Trek geek.)
Name: Reeva
Age: Twenty six
Gender: Female
Prisoner: Yes
Crime: Theft
Craft/Rank: No craft
Appearance: Reeva has short reddish brown hair, a style she used to have even before she was arrested. She has a very fair complexion, with a few light freckles dotted on her skin. She has very dark eyelashes, and light brown eyes, which often betray her attempts at innocence with their mischievous gleam. They do not, however, detract one's attention from the scar which runs from her left cheekbone, down past the collar of her red jumptsuit. Reeva stands at five foot two, with a light and slightly athletic build.
Personality: Reeva isn't good at playing the goody two shoes. Although she can be quite charming and witty, her mouth and thieving habits get her into trouble more often than not. She has a fairly positive outlook on life, and is perhaps oddly cheerful for a prisoner, which has earned her some suspicious looks. In contrast to some of her fellow theives at the prison, Reeva knows what is supposedly right and wrong, but she just couldn't care less. Reeva is fairly talkative. She's probably not one of the best secret keeper's in the world, but she's honest. She will tell you outright what she thinks of you, whether this will get her into trouble or not. She can be stubborn, and often to cocky for her own good.
Like nearly every cheerful character, Reeva has a dark side. She can be extremely dangerous, but since she was imprisoned, only a few, rather unlucky people have seen it. Reeva is one of those people who strives to be the top of whatever political state she's in, no matter what tools she has. Even if she is your friend, she wouldn't hesitate to stab you in the back to get where she wanted to be. Whether if it's in a food line, or for a chance to Impress a creature, if you're in her way she doesn't care who you are, Reeva will find a way to move you.
History: Reeva was born into a fairly wealthy family. She was educated, well looked after, and loved the most out of all of her siblings, because she was the youngest and the only girl. For the first twelve yers of her life were great, until her eldest brother became addicted to Dust. Her parents cut his money flow in a hope to save their son. His wrath was terrible, and whilst her parents were being murdered, Reeva was smuggled by Loral, her second eldest brother, to safety until her eldest brother was arrested.
Loral looked after Reeva from that point until she was eighteen years old where she disappeared from his life for what seemed like forever.
The first time Reeva stole something, it was because she was hungry. the shopkeeper didn''t even notice. The thrill Reeva got from stealing was enough to make Reeva do it again and again until she was Twenty four. By that point, she had stolen from the wrong people too many times, and she was made to pay for it. The next house she stole from was the ringleader of a group that manufactured and sold Dust to the unfortunate addicts. This time, she was caught, and as punishment, was given a scar from her left cheekbone down to the elbow of her left arm, before being thrown out onto the streets,
Another year passed, before she was caught by the Dragon Watch, and sent to Warden's Weyr. Since then she's been on her best behaviour.
Other stuff:
Invidith
Name: Invidith
Color: Green
Age: Hatchling
Appearance: Delicate and petite, Invidith will always be one of the smallest of her color. Her build speaks of fragility; she has a slim, fine boned look that implies she might fall over in a strong wind. Yet, Invidith's wide wingspan and slight build allow her to remain in flight for long after other dragons of her size are exhausted. Just don't ask her to carry more than one passenger, or she'll quickly wear herself out.
Personality:
There are some who might say that Invidith is jealous. Those same people might call her possessive, controlling, and vain. Those people are fools. Which isn't to say they're wrong. Oh, Invidith certainly is vain, controlling, and possessive. But to focus on these traits is to miss the point. Invidith is an aristocrat and whatever flaws she has are in service to that one simple fact.
Elegant, charming, and extremely smart, Invidith sees her clutchmates less as peers and more as vassals. None are her equals, but some might rise as far as 'favored pet' through flattery and cunning. Yet, for all that she's arrogant, Invidith is hard not to like. She's a natural leader, recognizing the strengths of those around her and praising them for their successes. She's good at sensing weaknesses as well, and wise enough to know when to correct and when to step in and help. When Invidith decides something needs doing, it gets done and rarely by her. This green is a master delegater, with a natural ability to judge who can be motivated by flattery and who needs to be bribed.
Jealousy runs deep in Invidith. Perhaps its being born a green that does it. So little is expected of her and yet she's capable of so much. Extremely vain, Invidith's rider will have a difficult time rousing her before she considers herself 'properly groomed'. The idea of appearing in public messy is similar, for her, to the idea of appearing naked. It's horrifying and indecent. Those dragons that Invidith judges as more attractive than herself (golds, generally) will gain her immediate hatred. Those she hates can expect to endure her at her most arrogant. They can also expect to have other dragons giving them odd looks, as Invidith spreads malicious rumors and sows discord. Those who are unfortunate in the looks department (every last irregular female, for example) will earn a sort of doting pity. After all, they make her look good. And those dragons who flatter her? Well, they'll get on her good side but it comes with a price. Once a male's made eyes at Invidith, he'd be wise to keep them there. She doesn't share well.
Invidith's rider needs to be prepared for life with a very possessive dragon. Friends and lovers will earn Invidith's instant dislike. She'll not hiss or threaten though, Invidith's too clever for that. She'll gently mention to her rider that another dragon saw said rider's lover in the arms of another, or overheard a friend saying something nasty. If that doesn't work, Invidith is a masterful actress, capable of playing sick and injured so that she might have the whole of her rider's attention.
Yet, if she's possessive of her rider, it's out of necessity. Invidith's rider is the only person she views as an equal, the only human she'll ever deign to speak to. She's royalty after all, as is her rider. The other humans and dragons? They're just details, there to make Invidith and her rider's life more comfortable.
