Suggest animals here!
I'm not making a big fancy form. Just make suggestions and I'll compile the accepted ones into a big list. Both native species and species brought by the ancients are permitted. Just, for the time being, nothing impressible.
Be detailed or brief, whatever works. I am open to any approach.

GUINEA PIGS.
if the ancients were smart at all they'd have them as lab animals and as a potential farming/protein species. it would be easy enough for a few to go wild and they breed like all rodents - and their babies are pretty much born eating solid food, so it's highly likely that if they WERE brought by the ancients, they'd still be around - and in full force.
Easy to farm, high in protein, DELICIOUS - great source of food for large animals and small animals alike. :]

Parrots. Or something like parrots.
TERRORBIRD. GIANT SEVEN FOOT TALL MONSTER BIRD.
An animal like a deer? Or a jungle version of a deer. Just something to rp hunting.
A small, furry scavenger. Maybe similar to a fox?

-Emu-wherries, because they would be fatty and delicious and wouldn't be completely out of the outlaw's league like terrorwherries.
-Some sort of porcine; given the predators of the area, they'd probably be either big vicious brutes or small enough to go unnoticed. Or both, no reason for there to only be one species.
-Seconding everything else. :|b

I second Evadne, but I offer the chevrotain as further evidence that tiny silly-looking deer need to be a thing. Let's see... The majority of Pernese native animals are six-limbed, I think? I suspect there would probably be a variety of lizard species. Little arboreal ones, big gatorlike ones near the rivers... Maybe even a few brightly colored poisonous ones.

Some kind of herbivorous gliding species. Likely reptilian, probably having a poor meat-to-effort ratio.
Definitely flying, stinging things. Those exist everywhere. For fun, let's make them carnivorous and venomous enough to temporarily cripple someone. They'd be attracted to meat preparation areas and thus great fun!
What's the oxygen level on Pern? If it's high enough we could have giant insectoids. Lots of good protein if they're not toxic.
We already have large predators in wild whers and felines. We could use some small predators. Something that hunts in packs would do nicely. As much as I'd like to suggest something marsupial-ish because marsupials are awesome, Pern mostly has egg-layers. So let's have something like a Komodo dragon, but six-limbed and running in packs.

Love for the small deer, but maybe a Bongo for a larger species? I think they're lovely, or an Okapi xD They're both jungle species, so I think they'd fit in well xD As for the small predatores, (I apologize in advance for this) I think something like the Viper Wolf from Avatar (I've been listening to the soundtrack all through my revision so its been pestering my mind for a while now xD). Some kinda snakes xD Cause Spiffy likes snakes (and most reptiles). I say something colourful like the Flying Snake (Chrysopelea) which could be fun to hunt, something dangerous like the Philippine Cobra (a species of Spitting Cobra and highly venomous), and an Anaconda, because they're just awesome xD I second guinea pigs, and with such a good reason for them being there! Also saying that, they'll also have mice and rats and stuff for the smaller predators to feed on. And a giant dragonfly would just be awesome xD

Spinning off Firebird's last paragraph.
How about something more along the lines of a six-legged Pernese style cross between an Earthen monotreme and a marsupial? So you get a small (maybe two feet tall, tops) thylacine type creature that first lays a few eggs, then nudges them into its pouch to be carried around until hatched? It would have evolved the behavior to run around in packs for protection and more efficient hunting, due to its size. With six legs it would be easy to manage putting eggs in its pouch even if it didn't have opposables.
