Zen, when you said flirty green, did you mean no green at all, or just no flirty ones?

no flirty green at all. any other type of green is okay. Particularly, no overfly flirty dragons, but greens + flirty = no for G'ray. Sorry for the confusion.

Anything else: H'lak is named for Jaroslav Halak who was a goalie for the Habs last year. His firelizard, Aebischer, is also named for a former Habs goalie. This is not a requirement, but it would be fun to stay in the naming theme? I won't be upset if the theme is broken, though.

Link to Profile: D'jiAny Personality Traits Not Wanted: None. Any Dragon Colors Not Wanted: I'd prefer not green, simply because he doesn't strike me as a greenrider. However, if whoever gets him comes up with the perfect green, go for it. I'm all for personality more than color in the end, especially at this weyr - the color is just a personal peccadillo. Anything else: The dragon will have had to have lived with Amisi growing up in their weyr, for the most part, rather than the Creche, and a rider who had/is still having an affair with a female wherhandler. Oh sweet Faranth... Zen brought in G'ray. o.o

This is the one Tua wrote for me > Name:[/b] Scizyath (pron. SIZ-yath) Color: Brown Appearance: Image reference! When he was first hatched, if greys had existed, Scizyath might have been mistaken for one. As he's grown up, he's gained both size and some saturation to his overall color... but not all that much. Even now, he'd be more accurately described as 'taupe' than 'brown', and his size is profoundly average. Average length, average wingspan, average weight… Yet for once, that descriptor is not an insult. Browns are considered the versatile middleweights of dragonkind for good reason. And while Scizyath will never be either the fastest nor the strongest in his squad, he will perform reliably at whatever task his rider (or his squadleader) set him to. Matching his rider in one respect, Scizyath is undeniably a very handsome dragon. Deep chest, trim waist, an elegantly long neck and dark kohl-like markings around the eyes that give him a serious, almost brooding expression… Oh, he’s a charmer, all right. Scizyath’s markings are exotic and distinctive: a few faint dark stripes line the back of his neck and tail, with irregular high-contrast striping along his legs. His wingsails are very light beige, but with very dark brown just along the far edge, making him look dashing in flight. If there is a fault in Scizyath’s conformation, it is that his forelegs are oddly short. It doesn’t hinder him in flight at all, nor does it detract from his appearance… But it does make his gait on the ground into a curious hopskip more than a proper run. Personality: Scizyath regrets every day that his neck is too long and his forelegs too short to perform a proper facepalm. He tries anyway, but it just doesn’t have the same impact. Scizyath is the obvious brains of the team. The brown is quite astoundingly clever. While he is still limited by, well, being a dragon – that doesn’t stop him from being witty and perceptive. His jokes tend to be of the dryly clever variety (if Pern had a Britain, Scizyath would be quite British) and if they sometimes go over his rider’s head, he doesn’t seem to care. The brown is a pretty good problem solver too, with a particular knack for breaking down a problem to its simplest components. Even his memory is a little better than average, and he’ll have no trouble recalling events in the recent past. Unfortunately, this means that he will notice everything that his rider would otherwise be cheerfully oblivious to – and he will use his above average memory to hold grudges as long as possible against anyone who slights his rider. Scizyath honestly believes Ma’ric to be the best rider in Warden’s (doubtless this will only inflate Ma’ric’s ego further) and while he’ll be the first to tell his rider when he’s about to do something stupid, he’ll never be mean about it. Indeed, the brown is not above small acts of vengeance against anyone who tries to mock or take advantage of his human. On his own, Scizyath tends to be fairly gloomy, and relies pretty heavily on Ma’ric’s blithe obliviousness and affection to keep him upbeat. He’s not high-strung or neurotic… Just bordering on misanthropic when it comes to people who aren’t Ma’ric and Ma’ric’s immediate circle of friends. The brown only very rarely speaks to humans who aren’t his rider. He’ll be the one constantly warning His about how suspicious that prisoner looks, or grumbling that the unreasonably strenuous Warden’s schedule is making his Ma’ric lose sleep. Still, it’s hard to keep that dark outlook when you’re sunning on a beach, and Scizyath is easy to cheer up more often than not. There is one thing that can make this clever, brooding brown make an idiot of himself, and that’s females. Want to see a dragon make the derp face? Put him by the beach with half a dozen greens. Scizyath isn’t even sure he likes females at all. With an intensely close bond to his rider, he’s just not particularly interested in anyone that Ma’ric isn’t interested in. Frankly, if he could have chased Flo’ren’s dragon, he would have. Alas, dragon biology doesn’t seem to work that way. Why me? Oh Ma’ric, Ma’ric, shells, Ma’ric! What are you doing? Why are you doing it? Scizyath realized immediately that someone needed to look after this particular healer to make sure he didn’t get himself into too much trouble. His rider’s occasional acts of “evil” mischief will get little more than a sigh and an indulgent eyeroll, but Scizyath will step in if Ma’ric is about to put himself in danger, or place a little too much trust in someone he really shouldn’t… like, say, one of the murderers at Warden’s. And while Ma’ric may occasionally give his dragon migraines, he still keeps Scizyath from turning into a bundle of pessimism. Everyone else should post theirs here!

Written by Firebird for me! <3
Name: Ordith
Color: Bronze, C96300
Appearance: Ordith is rather small for a bronze. His wings are disproportionately large, and while he may appear ungainly on the ground he is an excellent flier. Ordith is very fast in the air and his maneuverability lets him fly circles around other bronzes, but his size simply does not let him share their endurance.
Ordith is a rich bronze, broken here and there with darker mottling. A particularly large mottled patch lies on his back, right where his rider sits, while a smaller patch stretches across his face. On his limbs the mottling turns to dappling, so much of it that the base color is distinctly in the minority. His tail, unusually enough, lacks either pattern and is a completely solid rich color.
Personality: Ordith sees things in black and white. Everything is either completely good or completely bad to him, with nothing in between. Dragonriders are Good, regardless of their individual personalities and vices. Prisoners are Bad, again regardless of personality or extenuating circumstances. Ordith only thought about the prisoner dragonriders for a few seconds before deciding that the 'dragonrider' bit overrode the 'prisoner' bit. Therefore they are Good, too. To follow one's duty is the highest good of all. Once Ordith decides on a category, it takes a lot of work to change his mind.
Ordith is loyal first to D'ji, second to whichever person is in charge where he is (the Warden, at the prison), and third to Amisi. There are precious few things that can upset this hierarchy, but physical danger to D'ji or Amisi is one of them. He will not let harm come to either of them if he can help it, and if harm does come to them he will do everything possible to help them heal. It is his duty, after all.
Outwardly, Ordith is humorless and blunt. He only opens up to D'ji and Amisi, and even then only when there is not something more urgent to do. Duty willing, he will allow himself to enjoy a quiet afternoon relaxing and keeping a careful eye on Amisi's shenanigans. His sense of humor can be brought out with just a little teasing by D'ji. He likes hearing his rider's jokes, but won't admit it to anyone but his rider. He also likes performing complicated aerial maneuvers for the sheer joy of it, but good luck getting him to do so if anyone's watching.
Why me? A steady, dutiful dragon is a good match for a steady, dutiful rider. However, the contrast between their way of seeing things will undoubtedly prove to be interesting, as will the difference between what D'ji and other people see from Ordith. Whether this was intentional or not, D'ji strikes me as the type to ignore his own needs for those of others. Ordith will help with that, since his main loyalty is towards his rider.

Yay!!! Lesa got it just right! Ari has a mom! I adore her! Name: Lihuath Color: Green ( D1E231) Appearance:Lihuath floats through the air like a leaf on the breeze. She’s a beautiful color, with a delicately curved but short neck and a long, permanently kinked tail sticking out of two different ends of her extra-long torso. Not that she lets such discrepancies of the norm stop her from being striking in appearance at her 27 feet in length. Through some quirk of nature, her hindquarters (muscle wise) look to belong to a brown, full and bulky and making her look almost squat, if her front half weren’t the delicate thinness of a fairy’s limbs. Everything combined makes her look straight unusual. Memorable, but unusual. Still, the muscles of her hindquarters do help her, no matter how they affect her look, allowing her to shove off with the power of one much more than her size, often surprising many when they watch her take off from the ground; she can easily gain the height of a bronze climbing into the air with one shove and a sweep of her large wings, compared to the two or three wing-beats another green might need. They look like leaves, her wings, like looking up from the ground at the canopy of a tree, large and branching, all her veins visible through the thin skin, light in color like the veining of a true leaf, despite the darkness ichor should give them. This veining extends from her wings to her trunk, wrapping her body and marking out the ichor as it spreads across the surface of her skin in thin and thick vessels, fading off on her limbs to let the pure color of her form show forth. Voice – Kristine SutherlandPersonality: loving, strong, cynical, sarcastic, wise“A mother’s work is never done,” could be applied to Lihuath. She’s always been the motherly sort, ever since fresh out of the shell. The green doesn’t wish for children, she has her own perfect child in Ariandne. She loves her Ari with all her heart, like any dragon will their rider. She loves others too, Lihuath is more than happy to have a group of people and dragons to fuss over, those who want or need someone to care for them, her heart’s big enough for that. She’d bake them cookies and make waffles if she could, but she doesn’t have opposable thumbs, and isn’t going to trust Ari, no matter how much she loves her rider, to cook without hurting herself. She’ll remember all the names Ari forgets, and give her rider all the time she needs to learn new things, always with a patient, That’s alright, Arilove, when something goes wrong. This isn’t to say that Lihuath is a complete pushover; she just isn’t one with a short fuse. Her fuse is long, though be wary when it explodes, especially if the explosion is caused because someone upset Ari or hurt her. Then the words “duck and cover” come to mind. It’s not that Lihuath would swear up a storm, or threaten to stomp the one who had made her mad. No, just that the one who did the deed would suddenly feel about two inches tall, as Lihuath systematically cut them down verbally, digging deep into the insecurities she has picked up from them. She’s always watching, keeping an eye on Ariadne, so it’s easy enough for her to notice what things make others uncomfortable, and use them to her advantage. An explosion of such magnitude is rare, despite the sarcasm that Lihuath wields with a masterful blade in regular conversation. Never to Hers, for fear of being thought serious, but to others who will understand, Lihuath will be as sarcastic as she pleases, returning barbs meant to hurt with quips that injure the other party right back, or the more gentle teases with the same level of sarcastic wit. Many look at Lihuath with pity, because of her rider. The green won’t stand for that, for all that her rider might be considered “slow” or “simple” by humans, she’s perfect for Lihuath, no matter what others may think. Lihuath would do anything to defend Ari, perhaps not kill a human, but she isn’t above asking a friendly firelizard to put trundlebugs in their beds or something, to show her displeasure with them. To Lihuath, her rider is a gem, a jewel, with her ability to always see the good in life, and so rarely see the bad. Lihuath adores how Ari always wants to help people, which is partly why she is so open to helping people herself, even if it wasn’t in her nature. She’d do so because doing so makes Hers happy. The large green is wise in the ways of the world, more than just Flightlust and how that can affect her rider (though she tries her best not to Rise, when she does she assures that at least one of those chasing her completely respects Hers, and always aims to have that male Catch her, to ensure Hers is not hurt). She may not be “top-of-the-class” intelligent, but Lihuath knows many things, her wisdom is borne of experience, even if she hasn’t undergone the certain event or done the thing that Ari wants to know about – she’s either seen it, or knows who to ask to get information about it, to explain the answer in a way that Hers will understand. She knows the ins and outs of a lie, calling many riders (and dragons) out on them bluntly. For all she loves people, she doesn’t completely trust them. She can’t, for Ari’s sake. Too many might try to take advantage of HerAri’s tender heart, and she’s not about to allow her golden girl to get injured in any way, so despite how she cares for those who need it, she doesn’t trust them, not fully. Just because they haven’t hurt Hers yet doesn’t mean they won’t do so at a later date. Why me? Lihuath works with Ari for various reasons. First off, she’s the wise mother/sister/teacher type who won’t mind when Ari needs extra time to do things or understand things, and won’t get mad when her rider gets things wrong, but she’s got the snark and sass that Ari needs combat those who don’t appreciate Ari for who she is. Breakdown of everything – I thought Ari needed a caring protector type, and dice-rolls made that caring-protector a green. I immediately thought of Joyce Summers, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Completely human mother takes on a vampire with an axe to the head, protective and motherly. Wanted a “green” name, to go with the color. Lihua means “pear blossom” in Chinese, so Lihuath, with the coloring of a pear, who looks like a combination between a pear (when sitting on her hindquarters, like a dog begging) and a Chinese dragon. With the Chinese bit established, I also thought of Mulan, who protected all of China with intelligence and wit. So I combined Joyce Summers with Mulan to get Lihuath’s personality, sorta. Joyce Summers is voiced by Kristine Sutherland, hence Lihuath’s voice.
