R'vis
Name: R'vis
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Prisoner: NOPE.
Crime: (Prisoners Only)
Craft/Rank: Insta-Weyrling weyrbrat!
Appearance: Oh man, what happened to this kid? It's like in the middle of being a fetus he decided he wanted to be a boy instead of a girl, but his face was already developed. So was the rest of him, really. With the exception of typical woman parts, like curves, breasts and things that can not be stated on proboards... this dude looks like a lady. He's of extremely slight frame, standing at only 5'4 and looking as if he might keel over if he keeps shivering like that.
His eyes are large and... heterochromatic? The area around the pupil is dark brown, though it quickly shifts into a light blue in a classic example of heterochromia. His nose is small and pert, and underneath it full lips have often bleeding wounds from constant lip biting. Really, he looks like a stereotypical Greenrider. A very, very frightened stereotypical greenrider.
His hair is long and curly, loose curls reaching his mid jaw and falling over his face to hopefully hide it from view. The color, well, it's a boring, mousey brown that seems to be gray at the tips. A popular rumor is that he saw his shadow and was so frightened about it that his hair started to turn gray.
Personality: R'vis is a gentle soul, sensitive and empathic to the point he hates the very idea of others being in pain. He constantly strives to help others and make their lives more comfortable, even if they have somehow wronged him in the past. It isn't that he forgives easily, no. It's just that he's too soft-hearted and kind for his own good, something which will undoubtedly lead to his good heart being taken advantage of in the future. His gentle nature and kind heart also lead to him being a 'fixer', a person who strives to help those with issues. Never a good thing to be.
While he is gentle, he is also easily frightened. The traits lend to each other, his cowardice helping to emphasize his aversion to violence and rudeness by him constantly treating others with the upmost respect in an effort to avoid being hurt. He's easily frightened, and every little loud noise will have the child flinching and running to the nearest friendly face for protection.
He suffers from paranoia as well, and every little snapping twig must be a wild wher, just waiting to snap him up and eat him. He never ventures alone, and is usually seen tagging after groups of people in hopes of safety in numbers. As he is also shy, he tends to run away the second someone in the group addresses him, off to the next gathering of people in hope of protection.
He's extremely shy, and it shows. He never makes eye contact and he strictly avoids having to speak to people, being afraid that they might reject him for some reason or hurt him. Seeking him out to speak to him will result in a near heart attack from the shy child, who couldn't possibly understand why someone would want to talk to a little brat like him. It just doesn't make sense!
His sheltered upbringing has resulted in him being very, very naive. Once he's talked to someone once, and they've said a nice thing or maybe smiled at him, R'vis trusts them. He wishes to see the good in everyone, and thus it's not very hard to trick or fool this boy into trusting someone he most certainly should not trust. He'd find a good thing about the murderers if he could, trying to prove that all of humanity had good in them and deserve to be saved from a cruel fate.
History: He is not one of those abused children, despite his nervous wreck of a personality. Rather, this kiddo was much loved. His mother tried for years to finally conceive a child, and when she finally did manage to get pregnant, she and her husband were estatic. They planned and planned for months. What their baby would look like, what he would be like. What craft would he go into? Of course he wouldn't be a dragonrider, as even they could see the evil of the dragonriders.
Then the baby died.
No, their first child was not R'vis. It was instead a girl that came into the world full of smiles and laughter, who grew to the delicate age of two before her life was stolen away. Some mystery disease, in fact cancer, rotted at her brain, eating away her life until instead of a happy toddler there was only an emaciated husk. Her mother and father were shellshocked, forever traumatized by the painful death of their first child. They were afraid to have more, and began to take the most precautions against a child that one on pern could.
Then R'vis was conceived. His mother was shocked, but quickly set to making the plans needed for the newest baby. His father began to become distant, having decided not to get attached to this baby... who could be stolen from him like his precious daughter. It began to slowly tear apart their marriage, R'vis's pregnant mother horrified with the way her husband was acting. He screamed at her that he did not want 'it' to die like his daughter had, that he did not want to love a baby that would only waste away and die. R'vis did not die, however. He came into the world sickly, but the child refused to die. He wanted to live.
His father strictly avoided the boy, hardly looking at him until the child reached a year of age. It was then that big blue eyes and a toothless smile finally won his heart, and he began to actually spend time with his young son. Soon the pair were stuck together like glue, the child always following his father about like a lost puppy.
But they never let the boy out to play with the other children, or do anything dangerous at all. They were always quick to inform him of all the dangers to his fragile little life, and how they just couldn't bare to lose him. He had to be careful, for their sake! Their sheltering of him caused him to grow naive and paranoid, constantly fearing that something was going to steal his life.
His parents doted on him, and one day managed to acquire something for him... a firelizard egg. The egg hatched... into a big and bossy Gold, who did quite well in defending shy little R'vis from bullies that might want to hurt him. By clawing their faces off.
One day, a search dragon visited the hold. They were searching for candidates to go with the eggs to the Prison, and despite his parents trying to hide him, gentle R'vis was quickly searched out. They knew he would not do well in a PRISON, of all things, but the search dragon and her rider took him anyway.
He Impressed, much to the horror of his parents who he contacted through his firelizard, Empress.
Other stuff: I can't wait for his dragon! Also, he's going to do HORRIBLE in the prison. Haha.
Pets
Name: Empress
Species: Firelizard
Color: Gold
Appearance: Big, thin, lightly colored.
Personality: Bossy, Imperious, protective, aggressive, intelligent.
Dragon/Wher Name
Name: Rikath
Age: Weyrling
Gender: Male
Color: Blue
Appearance: His may look like a lady but Mordanth is shaped more like a small brown than a blue. While Rikath is slender, he has a large frame, big enough so that his egg had been thought to be a brown. Rikath's hide showed to be a bright robins egg blue from the moment of hatching with colbalt colored stocking feet. His wings are larger than average for his color, the tips of them the same color as his feet. Rikath's tail is also a wee bit longer, giving the large beast a streamlined appearance.
Personality: What was that? Were you picking on His? Did you look at His crosseyed? Did you bat away that little gold? Seriously, do you want to get as close to injured as a dragon can get you?
For that matter, why are you picking on His?! His is perfect, shardit! Realize that fact and do it quickly.
Prison will hopefully be a bit easier for R'vis with Rikath around. This blue loves His probably more than R'vis's parents did, guarding him with a fierce possesiveness akin to a Queen with a gold egg. He does not handle the boy delicately, with rough and affectionate nose-pushes and body bumps but that is because he believes R'vis can withstand it and it will make him happier for the physical affection. With that in mind, no one else is allowed to touch R'vis in such a manner that may intimidate or harm the young man. Rikath will get up in the faces of even the angriest of bronzes if he feels they are a threat to His or even the little firelizard. Luckily for the trio, the only bronze around is one that honestly has no idea they exist and doesn't care to.
Rikath is not boastful of what he sees as R'vis' talents - they are quite visible in his opinion. R'vis is gentle and sweet and all should already know that and if they do not, Rikath is more than happy to educate them. Politely. He keeps his manners in tact even when threatening something fierce.
If Rikath tried, he could be the sort to charm the socks off of anyone. He will flatter them as if they were His, however briefly. It all depends on R'vis' disposition towards the person on whether or not Rikath wants to put up with them. If R'vis fell in love, Rikath would tolerate the person (even if he hated their guts) - until they broke up. Woe be unto that person.
Why me? R'vis needs a protector and Rikath needs someone to defend. A passionate dragon in himself, Rikath would not have fared well with someone of a bolder disposition; without R'vis at the Hatching, Rikath may have not Impressed at all. There are few he'd be so suited for in terms of protection.
R'vis and his good soul brings out a softer side in Rikath and, hopefully, his lust for life and those around him will draw out something bolder in R'vis. The dragon wants nothing more than to make R'vis life something better and hopefully receive love and care in return. The chance that they will grow into quite the awesome pair is what pushed Rikath to cling to his boy so. He would not have it any other way.
