Zalmask paced in the sands of the largest of the clutching rooms, her lips pulled back as she circled her clutch. Z sat mildly to the side, knowing better then to approach her. She'd laid every egg, but she seemed concerned. Very concerned. She snarled and hissed and raged, and he knew the reason. He could not blame her, and his heart cried out for the distress his dearest Wher was facing.
One of the eggs was carried in her mouth, so small that it seemed barely there. It would never hatch a full sized Wher, it wouldn't even hatch a White Wher if such a thing existed. The egg was so small, and it held the look of crumpled up paper. It seemed sad and insignifigant, and Zalmask knew that nothing was inside. It had no warmth, and she could hear no litle heart beat when she held her head against it. She set to digging a hole in the sand, hiding her shameful dead child underneath the sands.
There were two other eggs that were frightfully small, weak and broken. She could hear a fluttering heartbeat from them, but they were so small... no Wher that came from them would be strong enough to escape it's shell. Even as she picked it up she heard one heart give up, and she dragged her paws as she moved to another side of the hatching sands. This one too, she buried. It was cruel to do this to an egg that might be alive, but it was the kindest thing she could do for this egg. If it hatched, it would not live to adulthood. It was just too small.
The third egg she heard nothing from after a few faltering beats. She buried this one as well, again in it's own hole. Now she returned to her clutch of seven with a heavy heart, her eyes focusing on the golden egg in the center. This egg probably contained a Queen, and her heart swelled with pride. Now, her mind reached out to touch all Wherhandlers and most candidates, Wher candidates or just dragon ones that had shown interest in the clutch.
Zalmask have clutch. Come see.
~~~~Eggs~~~~
The Luxuria Egg
This egg looks as if Zalmask stole it from a Dragon clutch. It's smooth and beautiful, a rich purple with swirls of lighter purple. Some of them even border on pink. The lumps of this egg even seem to be beautiful, as if they'd been put in just the right place. Just look closer... see past the pretty colors and flattering shape. If one was to get closer, they would feel the personality of the hatchling inside. It beckoned coyly for others to approach, and one could just imagine a flash of a teeth and softly whispered words. This will be fun. The egg seems to promise, trying to lure others into it's beautiful trap. It's large and leans against the pride egg, as if trying to coax it into playing just one game.
The Superbia Egg
This egg sits in the middle, glowing and proud. It has a faint sheen to the hide, seeming to glint as if it is really made of the gold it appears to be. The Queen egg, many whisper. Zalmask's first golden daughter sits inside a prison that is lovely enough to rival the ornate, jeweled statues of earth civilizations. Each lump is a different color of the rainbow, as if the golden egg was studded with many different gems. The feeling one can feel from this egg is disgust, pride, the feeling of being better then those that approach. This egg refuses to submit to those outside it's gleaming shell, refuses to be anything less then Queen. It is leaning away from the Lust egg, as if disgusted by the fact the purple egg is touching it.
The Gula Egg
The last of the large eggs, this egg doesn't really seem big so much as... fat. It's dark green shell bulges outwards as if the gut of an overweight man, and dips and bumps decorate the shell freely. It isn't pretty, and it isn't really concerned with this. It just happens to be huge. Many rumor that a Bronze will hatch from this egg, but the egg could care less. Anyone who comes near it is hit with the sense of hunger, of entitlement. It would drink and eat everything in the world. After all, after this imprisonment didn't it DESERVE to eat things? However, underneath this there is a sweet innocence, a desire to make friends. It isn't that bad, it thinks. It's perfectly reasonable to be hungry!
The Invidia Egg
Situated next to the Lust egg, this bright green egg has swirls as well, though they aren't nearly as elegant as it's clutchmates. The swirls on the egg are jagged, appearing as if they're lightning bolts that incase the egg, and range from deep, dark hunter greens to bright, stunning electric lime. Spiderwebs of black cross under the lines, reinforcing the feeling that this egg is a stormy, fierce thing. The egg is small; almost minature in size. In fact, it hardly looks like it could contain a baby! When one gets close to this egg, it immediately goes on the attack; it doesn't like its siblings at all, either because they're bigger than it or are terrible. The wher inside of this egg wants a lot of things; however, it only wants them because others have them.
The Ira Egg
This egg is on fire! Or, at least it looks like it. It's base is yellow, climbing quickly into orange and then red. It flickers and seems to move like a fire, and many swear that the colors on it's shell move. But the startling outside isn't what makes this small egg astounding. It's what on the inside. This egg has been put to the outskirts of the clutch, but this isn't for favoritism. Zalmask is afraid it'll figure out how to kill it's clutchmates while in the shell. Come within three feet of this egg, and you'll feel rage, disgust, and hatred. Get away, get away! Disgusting, filthy, to be destroyed. Everything in it's path must burn, the impure must be disposed of. This egg calms when brought near pride, subservient to it. What does the boss man want it to do? Wrath will destroy all the icky little things that insult dearest Pride.
The Acedia Egg
Of medium size, this egg is nothing to call home about. In fact, even its bumps seem uniform and normal, though they're only slight, as if een the egg couldn't be bothered to exert more effort. A normal, plain gray, that's really the only color on it, other than the tinges of red at the very top and bottom. One will be hardpressed to gather much of a personality from this egg; it's not that it doesn't have the ability to tell others about itself, it is just MUCH too lazy to want to. However, under the sleepy, tire personality, a fierce fire burns, willing to flare up, despite the fact the wherlet inside seems completely mild.
The Avaritia Egg
This egg is certainly a sight to behold and, if it wasn't so much smaller, it would certainly be a contender for a Queen egg! A pure white, sporadic splotches of bright yellow are all over the small thing, warm gold outlining these bold little fireworks. Oh no, that isn't all, of course; this egg wants to have ALL the colors! Small specks of bronze, brown, blue, and yes, even green decorate it as well, all of them the brightest and best of their color. This little egg is like its sibling Envy when you approach it; it wants everything. However, one can soon see key differances. It wants things because it wants them, not because others have them. The wherlet wants, wants, wants everything.
