Takei
Name: Takei
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Prisoner: No
Craft/Rank: Weyrfolk
Appearance: The first thing anyone would notice about Takei is his albinism. Other than that, he is a rather unremarkable teenaged boy. His hair is a little on the long side and pale white, as if he was an old man. his eyes are pink-tinted. Combined with his tendency to stare at people when they're talking, it can make him look a little creepy. He and the sun are obviously not friends, since his very pale skin burns almost instantly and he is not fond of pain. This is one reason that he's mostly nocturnal and is very, very rarely seen outside during the day. If he is outside during the day at all, it is in the late evening or early morning hours and he wears a wide-brimmed hat and clothes that cover his whole body.
Takei is wiry and athletic. Once he's finished growing and looses the adolescent gangly look that is still plaguing him, he might actually be somewhat good looking. currently, though, he's in that awkward phase that teenage boys go through, where his limbs are still slightly too long and he doesn't seem to know what to do with them.
He is usually seen wearing clothes that are slightly baggy and cover most of his skin. He's not someone who is proud of his appearance and he doesn't show himself off. His clothes are also unremarkable, mostly in neutral shades. He is very partial to browns and blues, mainly because of the colours of his parents' whers.
Personality: Takei hates the world. He was often teased or shunned because of his physical appearance and that made him quite bitter. It did not help that he grew up around whers and the way they are looked down upon as being "lesser" than dragons. So he is rather defensive and snappish with anyone who isn't a wherhandler. He can also be outright rude and verbally abusive to them. He has been pushed once to physical violence, although he usually just sticks to words.
With wherhandlers or those like himself who choose to work around them, he's actually sociable and helpful. He'll even relax enough to joke, sometimes. He enjoys working around the whers and learning all he can, so he often pesters the wherling master and older handlers to learn all he can about the ugly cousins of dragons and their care. He speaks more to the whers than he does to people and, despite the fact that he usually eschews studying and so far has refused to learn a craft, he will spend hours memorising facts about whers or learning how to tend to a small detail of their care.
He consciously chose to be nocturnal, since he has a very antagonistic relationship with the sun. He pretty much despises daylight and avoids it as much as possible. He does go outside and enjoys long walks or jogs on the beach, but only at night or in the early morning before he goes to bed.
History: Takei was born in a small weyrhall to parents who were both wherhandlers. His mother was Talinn of brown Task and Malakei of blue Mask. His parents were lovers, but never married and a few years after Takei was born, ended their relationship. They remained good friends, however. Talinn had decided, despite her job, to raise her own child, mainly because she did not trust that crèche workers would care for a "freak" child as they would for a normal one. Even after they separated, Malakei stayed supportive and helped out with caring for his son.
Growing up, Takei was often teased and taunted by other children and generally shunned or looked at oddly by adults, who whispered to their children not to socialise with him. Because of this, he started tagging along with his mother, helping her out in any way he could, taking care of Task. He loved the big brown and, when he was very small, considered him to be his brother. After all, Talinn took care of both of them and loved both of them. His nocturnal schedule started then, since his mother was mostly awake at night when Task was most active. It suited him, since he realised that he could play outside without burning, and he has kept it up ever since.
When Takei was 15, his mother started having trouble with the new Weyrleader of the Weyrhall. It was mainly small things. She dislkied how dismissive he was of the whers and their personalities were not a match. The worst of her temper showed the day the man showed scorn towards her son. Task, in defense of his handler, actually snapped at the Weyrleader, although he did not touch him, knowing full well how the man's bronze would react. That fight was the last straw and Talinn was told that she would have to transfer to Warden. Takei, despite being sad about leaving his father and his father's new weyrmate who was like a second mother to him, opted to follow his mother to the new Weyr. Of course, that decision may have been slightly encouraged by the fact that he took a swing at the Weyrleader after he found out about Talinn's transfer. Or more like he hunted the man down, defying the hot sun, to publicly try and break his nose. And give him a piece of his mind. A blisteringly loud piece of his mind. Due to mitigating circumstances, he was not charged with assault, but a hasty retreat to Warden was definitely encouraged.
Since coming to Warden, he's tried to help out with the whers as much as possible, although he has been forced into other chores, mainly kitchen chores and cleaning and the like. He's made himself as useful as possible, knowing that as a non-rider, non-handler, non-guard, non-prisoner member of the Weyr, he has an odd status and wants to prove that he is useful, despite his insistence on a nocturnal schedule as much as possible.
Takesk
Name: Takesk
Color: Blue
Egg: WHY CAN'T I GO Egg
Personality: Yes. Yes, Takesk can do everything under the sun and there is nothing you can say to make him forget about it. Maybe he won't remember why that promise was made to go eat that beast, but he'll sure as shooting remember that he was supposed to eat it... And if he's denied what has been promised by any reason outside of his own demands, fits will be thrown. Public humilitation will ensue. Perhaps that means shrieking in public that his handler thinks horrible things about him because they can't do this thing right away, but that's what you get for refusing him things.
That whole 'filter between mind and mouth' thing that people have going on? Yeah. Takesk lacks that in his life. Anything that he thinks comes out of his mouth, and thank the huge butt of Ramoth that whers have a limited manner of speaking, as that will at least hinder how much he can spit out in one go before totally ruining any chances he or his handler has of ever having a proper social life.
WHY WON'T YOU LET ME GO THERE, TAKESK'S. WHY WON'T YOU LET ME GO.
When it comes to chases.... Well, good luck with that one. He isn't a coordinated dragon, nor an overly clever one. His thought processes tend to veer more towards the sheer joy of life around him (as long as he's getting his way), and what he will be eating next. Takesk loves his handler to death, perhaps a bit too much, because that means that you can hurt those you love and his boy isn't too much of jump from 'love' to 'nom'.
Appearance: At least one of the kids didn't turn out ass-ugly. Sort of. For a wher, Takesk isn't the prettiest on the block with a nearly smooth hide and a long, sleek figure. What few bumps he has are on his back, hidden by wings so dark a blue they are nearly black. The rest of him tends to veer towards the more 'robin's egg blue' as opposed to anything else that is serious sounding and adult. He is a large blue, brushing into a brown size, thick muscled and barrel chested as his mother.
