Is there a thread that would be good for new members to start in? I'm not entirely sure whether I should just dive on into the roleplay proper without at least an introductory post...

Hi Firebird,
Welcome! We're thrilled you're here.
If you'd like to post introducing yourself, the 'chat' forum would be a great place for it.
If you want to hunt up RP for something in particular, throwing up a thread in the 'plot' forum is a great way to get some players to offer to thread with you. Otherwise, posting an open thread is bound to attract someone to wander your way. Your boy's a prisoner, but provided he's not been too much trouble, he could be either in the prison or outside with a group of prisoners, doing chores.
Poking people on the C-box will also get you some RP. No worries, no one bites!
Oh, and there's a green Flight on at the moment. If you're looking for some random, no commitment needed roleplay, it's open to NPCs.
If that all seems intimidating, just give me a nudge, I've got a prisoner who could use some attention and I'd love to thread with you.

His name is Spenser and you can find him in the 'criminals' subforum if you're curious about him.
He's not allowed outside the walls of the prison at the moment, though he's at least not locked away in a solitary cell. If you'd like to set up a thread, go for it and I'll toss him in, hopefully tomorrow. If you don't feel like setting up a thread, I'll get one up as soon as I have a chance, most likely tomorrow.

Any of my characters are up for rp.  I'd be more than happy to start a thread for either one of y'all! Or both. Or what have you. I have Warden, the bossman, Siata, a smith, T'di the Weyrleader, and Machi a crazy mass murderer that likes pretty boys. Also, Jessan, mindhealer. They can be found, uhm, everywhere.
