Lucine
Name: Lucine. Often known as Luc.
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Prisoner: No
Craft/Rank: Guard; was a journeyman tailor.
Appearance: Tall at five foot eleven, Lucine looks like a formidable woman, and she does everything to embrace this look. Her skin is darkly tanned from time outside, either making sure that prisoners are behaving or, on occasion, working in the prison's farm, something that helped to build faint muscle.
She rarely cuts her hair, as she finds the black, wavy locks pretty; thankfully, her hair doesn't grow too fast, so it's only down to her waist. Despite the fact she keeps her hair back with a strip of cloth, a few pieces of hair always manage to fall in her face.
Personality: The woman is bold, to say for sure; she's far from afraid to say what she thinks, and even less afraid to protect that stance. She'll argue to the end of time to get her way, which is exactly how she wants it. This wouldn't be particularly bad if Lucine wasn't extremely...eccentric. She's extremely likely to try new, considerably dangerous things. If she had the foresight to prepare for these things, maybe they wouldn't end as bad...but she's extremely impulsive, and is likely to try things that, well, shouldn't be done.
However, despite her rash, bold behavior, she can be kind, especially to children. For some reason, the woman just adores those who are younger than her, and, despite the fact she's quite violent, she would never dream of hurting anyone younger than herself, unless her life absolutely depended on it.
While she can act serious, Lucine prefers to avoid that, liking to keep an upbeat and radical attitude, rather than one that's depressingly serious an dry.
History: Lucine was born into an average family, and a particularly upstanding one at that. Her father would not tolerate Dust in his household, and her mother kept both Lucine and her older brother, Kiikii, firmly under control. Neither were allowed to even consider stepping a toe out of line... and, naturally, this encouraged both of them to act out as much as they could.
Kiikii was mostly a good boy, three years older then his sister and dimwitted as anything. He often obeyed his little sister like a loyal dog, and that was what got the poor dear in trouble. However, Kiikii did NOT look harmless. He was a monster of a child, and by the time he hit fifteen he was six feet tall. To say he dwarfed his younger sister was not an exagerration- but the boy was a gentle giant.
Lucine was a trouble maker, however. She picked fights and stole all throughout her childhood, refusing to fall into the stereotypical role of a woman. She wore her brothers old clothes, picked fights with the boys until they were all so terrified of her brother- usually extremely slow to anger and good natured- and his protective stance when it came to his sister. Plenty went away with broken arms for daring to touch a hair on Lucine's head, and the girl got it into her head that it was her the boys were afraid of! She strutted around town, crowing about how she was the biggest and the toughest, never realizing it was her big brother that kept people from bothering her. He did a good job of it, too.
One turnday, she noticed that her brother had been working hard for the past few months. He'd gathered all of his marks and spent them on nothing, earning more and more. Lucine took it upon herself to investigate, but did not learn of the reason until nights fall when she was presented with a large flitter egg. Her brother had been saving his marks for nearly a turn in secret to be able to scrape up the money to buy her the egg, which hatched into Brown Imp.
One day, however, Lucine grew tired of the cothold she'd grown up in. She was a mere sixteen, and she wanted to see the world. She wanted to know about all the dark and mysterious things Pern had to offer, and in the dead of the night she left her small family to join a large hold. On her travels she ran into a strange boy, one like she'd never met before. The boy acted more like an animal then a person, and introduced himself as holdless. He was strange looking, that was for sure. But he told her that his name was Al- just Al, and she gladly accepted this. Al was a nice guy, if a bit dimwitted and sweet. He reminded her of a smaller version of her brother.
Al, as it was, knew the location of the hold. He was quite willing to guide her there, though he protested multiple times that the Hold was known for Dust and other such crimes. He took her anyway, and Lucine was charmed. She had no money, but she was naive to the way the world worked at that point. She was quickly corrected in her beliefs that she would come to no harm in the form of a duster by the name of Ryaner.
Ryaner was... frenemies with Al, and the pair were well known for fighting. Ryaner, however, did not recognize Lucine and, under the heavy influence of Dust, attacked her. Imp was confused and frightened by this and Betweened, leaving Lucine lost to as whether he lived or died. Al managed to beat him off, and knocked out Ryaner. Against her better judgement, Lucine stayed with him at Ryaner's home for the night.
When the man woke up, he was a good deal more friendly, and even charming. Lucine stayed with Al, learning that the home actually belonged to the wild child and not the duster. He allowed Ryaner to stay because he felt like the man just needed help. Eventually, Lucine began to believe this too. So she stayed with the pair, helping out and feverently wishing Imp would come back. It was during this time that she took up being a tailor, often fixing the clothing of those in the house.
After a few months, Imp returned, cracked and bleeding and complaining loudly. He absolutely detested Ryaner, attacking the man whenever able and thus earning the annoyance of his owner. Multiple times Ryaner actually tried to kill the Brown firelizard, only to Between away. Lucine was never aware of this, however.
Unfortunately for Imp, Lucine fell for Ryaner. Hard. The pair eventually decided to leave Al, Ryaner declaring that he had recovered from his addiction. Never telling Al, something Lucine regrets to this day, the pair took off in the night. Lucine has no idea what became of her wild little friend, but she hates that she ever abandoned him.
They moved to another hold, and Lucine lived under the blissful assumption that her lover had given up dust. Imp was suspicious, but Lucine often soothed his worries with food. Then, Ryaner got involved with a bad crowd. He came home high on dust, with multiple injuries from his 'friends' beating him. Every time Lucine nursed him back to health as Imp screamed protests. It was during this time that she missed her brother, that she wanted to go home. However, she was going to see her brother once more.
Kiikii had been searched shortly before she left, and now appeared again as K'ki, rider of Bronze Beelzeth. He was one of the riders responsible for breaking up the ring Ryaner had gotten involved in, and thus also responsible for Ryaner suddenly being cut off from his supply. Lucine was shocked to see her brother, even more shocked to see him the rider of a Bronze dragon, as well as to see Ryaner attack him, screaming about how it was K'ki's fault he could not longer get the drug.
Unfortunately for Ryaner, this attack took place at night... just as the Blue watchwher of the Hold was rounding the corner. Ryaner was mauled badly by the Wher, and taken to Warden's prison... where he didn't survive Detox.
Lucine, not knowing that her lover had died, quickly decided to join Warden's as a guard. She thought this would reunite her with her lover, only to find that he had died. The heartbroken woman decided to stay there, and was eventually gifted with a puppy that she named after her deceased lover from another female guard. She chose not to stand for the Dragon clutch- she had no love for the giant creatures, instead vastly preferring their dimwitted cousins Whers. She's currently planning on Impressing one of Zalmask's hatchlings... if Mama will let her.
Other stuff: A bit of a pryomaniac.
Imp
Name: Imp
Species: Firelizard
Color: Brown
Appearance: Just a nice, normal brown, Imp is quite large for his color, though, he doesn't look muscular so much as pudgy. The brown gets a bit lighter on his nose and paws.
Personality: A sweetheart, Imp couldn't care about his dearest human more...Though, he had no love for the smelly canine she dragged around. The pudgy little dear loves food; while he looks more tubby than anything, he's strong and tries to use this to protect his bonded.
Ryan
Name: Ryan
Species: Canine
Color: N/A
Appearance: Ryan's fur is a light brown, though it fades to a near black on his paws, as well as his stomach. His muzzle is a light brown, as are the tips of his ears and the spots of color above each eye. The dog's eyes are a bright cobalt blue, with flecks of marine and electric blue in them.
Personality: Like the man he's named after, Ryan is...unsound. It's strange to think that a dog could be mentally disturbed, but...well, he is. Protective to the degree that he seems almost obsessed, Ryan is reluctant to let Lucine even look at someone else, much less speak to them. He'll snap and howl and glower at whoever comes too close, doing much worse tot hose who dare upset his owner. He hates Imp as well, always trying to attack the firelizard, only for the chubby thing to pop Between or claw his nose.
