Crescendia
Name:Crescendia
Age: 16 Turns
Gender: Female
Prisoner: No
Crime: n/a
Craft/Rank: Wingrider
Appearance: Crescendia is quite a short girl for her age, and overall she looks rather younger than she is. She’s a slender little creature with narrow shoulders and narrow hips and not much in the way of feminine curves; flat-chested she remains, and as she seems to have reached the end of puberty, that doesn’t look likely to change. Despite being so slim she does not look at all underfed; rather she looks like she’s found a perfect balance between food and exercise. Her skin is a medium shade with a distinct yellow-olive cast, and as she managed to avoid the usual teenage trauma of acne, her complexion is largely clear. Her hair is pitch black, and is it’s naturally wavy and frizzy so she keeps it cut short like a boy to keep it out of trouble. It flops over her forehead untidily anyway, most of the time, as she only rarely gets it cut. She has a round, pretty face with prominent cheekbones and youthful features. Her mouth is quite small and thin, but doesn’t appear so as it’s always stretched into a friendly smile. Her nose is small but wide while her eyes are narrow but heavily lidded and always sparkling with happiness. The irises are a very dark brown, looking black in dim lighting.
Personality: To sum Crescendia up in one word would be easy: tomboy. She carries herself like a man; walking with her shoulders apart and taking long and confident strides, she goes entirely against what the Holds would consider the ideal for a prim and proper girl. She gets on better with boys than with girls and is generally to be seen playing around, joining in their rough games with great enthusiasm. Of course she doesn’t have the physical strength of a boy her own age, but that doesn’t stop her from trying, and she’s perfectly capable of enjoying their course, often rather crude jokes. She isn’t trying to be a boy by any means, nor does she want to trick anyone into thinking she is one; she just behaves like one because that’s the way she is. Her general demeanour is one of friendly informality, as if nothing in the world could bring down her cheerful spirits. She finds it hard to take anything very seriously, particularly authority, and while she isn’t deliberately rebellious, she can rarely be motivated to do anything she finds dull or boring, if she can’t see the point of it.
But Cressy is, at heart, a nice person. She’s friendly and outgoing with everyone she meets, and very good at making people new to the Weyr feel welcome and wanted. She may be a little loud and boisterous at times, perhaps a little intimidating to someone of a nervous disposition, but she means well and would never deliberately hurt anyone. She likes to be helpful and is giving by nature; need something? Ask her and you shall have. She’s surprisingly empathetic, given her boyish nature, and seems to understand other people rather better than you’d expect. She’s a very good listener, and always has the time to hear someone tell her about their worries and fears. That said, she isn’t much good at giving advice and so she instead she tries to help as best she can by just being a friendly face and trying to cheer people up. She can be a little short-tempered on occasion; quick to anger if insulted or offended, but she’s also quick to forgive and forget, and does not hold grudges.
History: Cressy was born in Insta Weyr, the daughter of a drudge and a bluerider, and as such she was not considered to be of much importance in terms of rank or standing. Nevertheless, she had a better early life than many of the drudge-born weyrbrats as her parents were close, if not exactly faithful to each other, and her father made some provision for her welfare. When he wasn’t busy flying wing drills and the like she was up in his weyr, playing with his dragon and asking him to tell her stories about what it was like being a rider. It was he who bought her a firelizard egg for her tenth birthday, which hatched into her dear little blue, Rictus, who has trailed after her ever since. When not with her father, she was either trailing after her mother or playing with the other weyrbrats, delighting in the rough and tumble of their play and developing her boyish nature.
When she was thirteen Turns old she became a candidate, but she did not Impress at the first clutch she Stood for. She was a little disheartened and more than a little disappointed, but she remembered her father saying that he hadn’t Impressed ‘til the fourth time he Stood, so she resolved to try again. She never really saw herself as likely to Impress a high-ranking dragon, not because of any lack of confidence in herself but because she did not much like the sound of having so much responsibility. She was delighted, therefore, when, at the next clutch a little female green, weaved up to her and chose her as her rider; she was more than special enough. After that there was weyrling training, which went fairly well, though Cressy was often in trouble for missing the more tedious parts of training, and they ended up graduating with the rest of the weyrlings from the clutch. They later moved to Warden’s, more because working in a prison sounded interesting than anything else and, when she arrived and realised how hard life was going to be, she regretted it a little. Still, she is happy enough, and performs her duties with nothing more serious than grumbling.
Other stuff: (PB - unkown)
Pets
Name: Rictus
Species: Firelizard
Color: Blue
Appearance: Rictus is medium sized for his colour but he’s quite a lanky creature with long limbs and wings, and as he likes to sprawl messily over Crescendia’s shoulders, he often looks larger. His colour is fairly muted; a soft blue shade with just a slight greyish tinge around his muzzle, feet and tail. His wings are striped with brighter, more vibrant blues.
Personality: Rictus is a friendly little thing who likes to meet new people and be cuddled and petted. He likes to be with Cressy wherever she goes, either sprawled out over her shoulders or flapping along in the air beside her, when he’s got a lot of energy. He’s not a very bright creature, and all of Cressy’s attempts at training him to do something useful have failed, so instead he is purely pet. He’s a good pet though, obligingly floppy and patient, he doesn’t mind being pulled around by his tail or lying limply in her arms as he’s carted about. He can be quite protective of his Bonded on occasion though, and if he sees some danger to her, real or imagined, he will jump to her defence. He’ll back down at a word from Cressy, but he will nip or bite if left unchecked.
Hibrith
Name: Hibirth
Color: Green
Age: 2 Yeard
Appearance: At just an inch over 20 feet in length, Hibrith is tiny even for her colour. She’s a slender, dainty thing, with slim limbs, and small, delicate looking feet. She has quite a deep chest all the same, improving her endurance a little, but her belly is trim and concave. She has quite a short tail that’s thick at the base but thin towards the end, and the forked ends are long and slim. Her wings are medium-sized when compared with her body and quite broad, which allows her to glide for quite a while before having to flap. She has a pretty face with a long, slender muzzle and fine eyeridges. In terms of colour, Hibrith has a striking and eye-catching design. She’s made up of two shades; a bright neon and a dusky emerald, which swirl together in a marbled pattern. Over most of her body the shades are present in equal amount, but on her belly the neon colour is the dominant one, with the darker swirls becoming just thin threads.
Personality: Hibrith is one of those dragons that just will not shut up. She natters constantly, keeping up a running commentary in Cressy’s brain about what’s going on around her. She’s very much like a child, innocent and naïve about the world as well as very inquisitive about everything. She may not be the brightest of dragons, indeed her long-term memory is even worse than that of most dragons, but she likes to know things about the world, and is forever asking questions about everything in it, many of which Cressy cannot answer. She seems to have boundless energy and is always ready for play, be it with other small dragons, hatchlings, or even human children. Good-tempered she definitely is, for although her constant jabbering can be a little irritating and she’s rather tactless on occasion, always asking rather awkward questions, she always means well. She’s very affectionate and keen to show it, always nuzzling her rider and anyone else she takes a liking to, which is pretty much everyone who isn’t openly unkind
