Mine... what is that?
It's gruel...
I... I don't want to be rude... but it smells like socks...
F'ox barked out a laugh, before blushing brightly and covering his mouth. He got a raised eyebrow from his guard, who otherwise stayed silent and in the background. He rubbed at his cheek, looking around to see if anyone had noticed his actions. He hoped not. He went back to poking the meal with a spoon, smiling brightly.
It's much better then what I got as a prisoner.
Poor F'oxmine... Snowth seemed honestly distressed, her eyes whirling yellow. Was this what her beloved had to eat for the rest of his life? Oh, he was going to be so unhealthy... She nibbled on his shirt, regarding the food with worry. Snowth decided that when she was big enough, she was going to go to the jungle and get him fruit to eat. Otherwise he... his taste buds were going to fall off!
F'ox smiled despite himself at his Green's worrying, reaching out to stroke a headknob lovingly. "It'll be okay, Snowth. I like the food!" He shoveled the gruel into his mouth, getting a shocked look from Snowth.
Mine... do... do you not have taste buds...?

H'und was not the type to go and eat where people were. Rather, he was far more likely to slink in, grab food, and flee to hide with Seer and Coreth, because people were unlikely to be kind and what not. However, Coreth had suggested -nay, demanded- that he eat in the mess hall, more or less because he had the gall to not go to the hatching. The bronze wanted to see all of the new weyrlings, and His's strange social phobias would not stop him.
The blond had been quite ready to just sit in some corner while Coreth flounced off with Seer on his shoulder, eating a relatively normal meal comprised of bread and meat. However, the bronzerider's hopes were kicked down when his dragon spotted the prisoner that had nearly fainted when working. Without waiting for H'und to say that it was perfectly okay to go eat by someone that he was pretty sure was scared of him, Coreth quickly made his way over to F'ox and Snowth. Good morning, Little One and Little One's. Congratulations on bonding! Seer chirped happily at the albino, head tilting slightly at the green dragon.
H'und stood unsurely next to his dragon, only to find himself nudged forward a bit forcefully by the bronze. Say hi! "Um...Hello." Sighing, the blond was nudged again, as if to inform him he needed to work on this whole talking thing. Please excuse Mine, he isn't very good with talking. "Love you too, Coreth." Mumbling the words he smiled slightly at the snort. The runt dragon was prevented from retorting, far too distracted by what the other was eating.
Why on Earth are you eating that? There's much better food around. Seer chirped her agreement, having made her way to the edge of the bowl to stick her head experimentally in the gruel, appearing disgusted enough by it to go and steal a piece of meat from her Bonded's plate, dropping it in the small, adorable man's lap. "..Er."

"O-oh!" F'ox was distracted from his inner conversation with his dragon by another voice in his head, one that was not Snowth. It was too masculine to be her, and vaguely familiar. Wide eyes gazed up to focus on the Bronze, and a shy smile flitted over his face. "He...Hello Coreth..." F'ox greeted slowly, before blushing. "Thank you!" F'ox beamed, and Snowth climbed onto the bench beside him. She was so little still, so fragile. He worriedly passed his eyes over her bandaged injury, making sure it hadn't reopened.
Snowth peered up at the Bronze with curiosity, her eyes whirling a serene Blue. Hello, big one. He might have not been big compared to other Bronzes, but he was huge compared to the new born!
"Um... hi..." F'ox ground his knuckles together, "It's not that bad!" He piped up weakly "I like it. It's much better then what we had as a... a prisoner..." He'd never had good food, so he didn't really now better. He squeaked as meat was left in his lap, and he quickly scooped it up and gave it to Snowth. The Green eagerly snapped it up, crooning in appreciation.
"Um... i'm F'ox now..." He told H'und shyly, and Snowth crooned in an encouraging manner to her rider. Maybe F'ox could make a friend? That would be nice.

Coreth snorted softly as he lay down, obviously deciding that this was where they were to sit. Seer seemed to like this idea too, grabbing another piece of food from her bonded's plate as she sat down next to the bowl of gruel, ignoring the fact she was covered in the stuff. It became aparent that they expected H'und to sit as well, which he decided was probably okay. You aren't a prisoner anymore. You're a weyrling. You need good food so you can be strong for lessons. I'm sure that Little One would be happy if you ate better.
Having decided that this was not F'ox's decision, Coreth nudged His, who had put together a piece of the bread and meat in a rather plain sandwich. His was huge- he was sure H'und could spare some food. Seer agreed as well, chittering as she nudged the plate. Oh, the white colored one was so skinny! It needed food or it would die!
Poor F'ox seemed to be the pair's pet project, and, as H'und pushed the plate towards the smaller man unsurely, Coreth rumbled happily. "You...Probably haven't ate a lot in a while." He was trying to be polite; he really was. He...was just bad at it.

F'ox gave the Bronze dragon a very uncertain look, not quite sure if he wanted him and his rider around. Dragons were trusted, with the exception of Greens, and they were very nice to F'ox indeed. Semith and Mordanth had given him his Snowth, after all. But... but H'und came with Coreth. An uncertain look was passed to H'und, as if trying to gauge how dangerous he was. H'und was big and strong, and certainly capable of hurting F'ox... but they'd met before and H'und hadn't hurt him. Still, he couldn't be certain yet.
Snowth crooned reassurances to F'ox, little whispers of I won't let him hurt you, F'ox. Never. and a little nudge to try and comfort him. He forced himself to relax, forced him to leave. As the food was offered he eyed it with obvious uncertainty. "I... I don't have to do anything if I take it, right?" He found himself asking, despite not wanting to voice his concerns out loud.
You're a rider now, F'ox... no one would hurt you... Ever! Snowth rubbed her head against his should, and F'ox smiled weakly. He wasn't used to people giving him things unless they wanted something in return. His entire life had been earning what should have been given for free by those that served as his guardians.

F'ox was given a curious look as he asked if he had to do something for the food. "Of course not...Everyone can just come down here and eat pretty much whenever." Why would F'ox think that he had to give him something for it? This was an extremely confusing statement, and H'und was quite curious as to why it was made. However, he decided it didn't matter, as Coreth seemed extremely happy to keep up a conversation.
How do you like being a weyrling so far? The lessons can be a bit tedious at first, but it'll get interesting soon enough. Coreth seemed eager to make sure that the prisoner turned candidate knew he was accepted; after all, if a dragon had chose him, it was HIGHLY unlikely he was unstable. Had he known that F'ox found His scary, he likely would have laughed. His was a giant ball of fluff hidden inside a big, strong outside. Really, H'und loved all things adorable. It was quite a mystery, in his own opinion, as to why in the world anyone found the man scary!

F'ox gave H'und an uncertain look, shuffling his hands on the table. "I just wanted to be sure..." He reached out to take the food, daintily eating as he had been taught at the brothel. He'd always had to be very, very polite when he was a prostitute- acting like a savage might turn away customers. "It's good..." He muttered, despite the fact it was really rather average. Average was ridiculously good to F'ox!
"Some of the lessons are strange..." He hesitated, looking at the senior weyrling for a moment. Suddenly, the pernese equivalent of a spider began to march over the table, drawing F'ox's horrified gaze. He jerked back, at the same time Snowth reached forward to allow the spider to clamber onto her nose. She carried it to the ground, lowering her muzzle so it could crawl onto the ground, before returning to her table. "Snowth! What if it bit you!?"
It's just a spider, mine. It just wanted to get home, so I helped it!
