Th'or
Name: Th'or
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Prisoner: No
Appearance: Blue eyes sparkling with humor or fury dominate a square shaped face, which is further covered by a full beard trimmed short for function. All hair on his body in blond, including the thick eyebrows that top his eyes. A prominent, squished nose is the next thing you would notice, and below that a firm mouth that is always either smiling or frowning. His hair is short all over, trimmed to the same length as his connecting beard.
Th'or is not overly tall, but well muscled. He is usually in the medium height rang for a man, at about 5'11". His chest is barrel shaped, giving him a impressive look to him, like he takes up much more room than he actually does. His arms are covered in heavy muscles, and his legs too, both from Turns of dragonriding and from his constant desire to keep in shape. His stomach manages to be fairly flat, given his body type's predisposition to have a gut. He works hard on all his body, making sure the muscle is well defined even in his stomach area.
Personality: Th'or has always been generally unconcerned for his own safety, and that of others, until he impressed Mlorth, anyway. He does care deeply for Mlorth, who is the only dragon, he is certain, that works as hard as he does at everything in life. Mlorth makes him think more about people other than himself, which is really hard to do. Th'or is very self-centered, which could explain why he is the ultimate bachelor of Pern. He just can't be bothered to care about anyone else for a long period of time, which for him is more than two sevendays.
Since he cares not for most other people, Th'or rarely can bring himself to see how his dangerous stunts can cause problems or even hurt other people. Since Th'or is also rather, bored shall we say, with life, it prompts him to take unnecessary risks to show his obvious superiority (in his mind). He has a lot of the "try and stop me" attitude, although no one is sure where he got it from. All that said, Th'or does hold his family in high regards, actually his family are the only people that he shows constant respect for. All others must be put through the ringer to earn his trust and respect.
He does not hold any respect for Dust users, or people that have anything to do with the drug. He thinks that the users are just trying to escape reality when they could be putting their energies to better use elsewhere. He refuses to give druggies the time of day to understand anything about them, treating them like second class citizens at best, if not generally just like dung that he'd stepped in. He despises the dusters, as is proper for one of the dragon watch.
Of course, Th'ore does have a amorous side, just like any man. His relative good looks make sure that he is rarely without a bedpartner when he wishes it. But woe for the female who outstays her welcome, as his usual tendency is just to ignore her. If that doesn't work, he'll threaten to have Mlorth eat her, or something other just as silly to try to get them to leave. Th'or refuses to let Mlorth chase a male-ridden green, telling him that it is a threat to his dignity. Prickling Th'or's dignity triggers Th'or's temper, and that is never a good thing. Th'or's temper is like a torch, once it's set off, it's hard to put out. He will never willingly hit a woman, he does have a bit of honor, but he will hit a man without a second thought. It makes him hard to get along with for most people.
History: Th'or was born to dragonriding parents, his father, T'eo, is a blue rider at High Reaches Weyr, and his mother, Orthra, is a greenrider at the same Weyr. Th'or is far from an only child, having many brothers and sisters from his Weyrmated parents, not to mention growing up in the creche too, led him to be close with many people. Having a fairly normal childhood, Theodor, as was his given name, apprenticed to the Smithcraft hall as a "fallback" but he knew it wouldn't happen that way. He impressed Mlorth his first time standing at 14 Turns, the stocky blue filling into a muscular blue as Th'or filled out into a muscular young man.
In took nearly 4 Turns for Th'or and Mlorth to graduate Weyrling training though, mainly because they could not stay out of any sort of trouble. Th'or had a temper, and liked to show off. Mlorth made him stop and think about things, but it often didn't help Th'or decide not to do anything, in the end. Th'or just took more precautions if he took time to think about it. He graduated at 18 Turns.
After graduating, Th'or quickly joined the Dragon Watch, wanting to be where the action was, where his skills would be appreciated. Th'or and Mlorth were both had perfected many dangerous stunts while in Weyrling Training, which is part of the reason they took so long to graduate. Th'or loved the action of the Dragon Watch, Mlorth enjoyed the work as well. They both worked hard to help the Dragon Watch for many Turns, but eventually, Th'or's reckless nature had him with a stunt gone wrong.
He'd nearly killed another bluerider by showing off, trying to catch a Dust addict who ran from midair. He didn't know that the other bluerider was going to land in front of him! The rider could have had the common sense to have his dragon tell Mlorth that, but no. Mlorth and the blue collided, flipping the blue over as he tried to land, nearly killing his rider. The other blue suffering from a broken bone in the wing he landed on to save his rider, while Mlorth strained several muscles in his wings and chest, grounding him for weeks. The criminal got away, to add insult to injury. Th'or was repentant to Mlorth, apologizing over and over, but it couldn't change what would happen next.
Th'or was sent to the recently founded Warden Weyr, after almost 10 Turns of service to the Dragon Watch. He was 28 Turns when he arrived, his birthing day happening while Mlorth was recovering from his strained muscles. Th'or wasn't very happy with this turn of events, but he couldn't do much about it. He wanted back on the Dragon Watch, and only good behavior would get him there.
After a Turn passing by, and no word from the Dragon Watch leaders, Th'or has been forced to admit that he may be at Warden's Weyr for a while rather than the short stay he had hoped for. Still he hopes that someday he can prove himself to get back into the Watch.
Other stuff:
Dragon
Name: Mlorth
Color: Blue 000033
Age: 15 Turns
Appearance: Heavily muscled for a blue, Mlorth looks extremely sturdy. He is a dark, steely colored blue, more like blued metal with only the faintest hint of his true color. While not the biggest blue ever recorded, Mlorth certainly runs close to it, maybe even matches the size. However, his large sized makes him fly more akin to a brown, with better stamina in exchange for speed which the smaller blues use to their advantage. His head is large, and square shaped, his eyes seem like they're constantly following Th'or where ever her is. Unless there is a lady-dragon around, of course.
Personality: Mlorth is a serious dragon. He does what needs to be done, and only with his rider's influence does he agree to do stupid things that Th'or loves to do. Like bulllying the prisoners by doing dive bombs. Mlorth does like to flirt though, like some dragons do. He is fairly intelligent for a blue, and will speak to any dragon that can carry on a conversation, even if it's just gossip.
