“Confidential, hmm?” Arkady nodded his approval. “I believe you. And I’ll keep that in mind.” Strangely enough, Ark found that he did believe her. Why would she lie about such a thing? Jessan had nothing to gain by running tales to the Warden… Well, not tales about him, at any rate. Still, it was nice to know. Maybe she’d make an honest Harper out of Arkady after all.
And maybe herdbeasts would breathe fire.
The prisoner’s face fell as she mentioned the time. “Already? Shards, felt like that went quickly…” Back to the cell with him. Back to bars and shackles and less interesting company. Still, nothing could keep that frown in place for long, and it was back to the bright grin within seconds. “Well, you’re right. I’d hate to spill all my secrets to you at once – wouldn’t be half as interesting that way. And I’m sure all those other broken charmers are lining up all anxious to see you.”
He stood up, stretching and rolling his shoulders, then dipped into a polite bow to Jessan. Manners. He’d end as he began: playing the part of the good Harper. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Mindhealer Jessan. I’d be delighted to speak to you again anytime – consider me at your disposal.”

Aw, some part of Jessan's cold little soul warmed when Arkady stopped smiling and, instead, looked almost sad at seeing themselves parting way. She always enjoyed being liked. She smiled slowly, at that that standing, and the bow. Jessan stood as well, swishing up to her feet with the modest brush of skirts and long sleeves. Demure, ever prim, Jessan never the less moved closer to that Harper then good taste would allow, close enough for Warden to certainly flip a lid over.
She didn't touch him, at the very least, although she sidled close enough to his shoulder that her chest nearly made contact. Jessan leaned in, her voice gentle, and words sweet, much too quiet for any outside their little circle to hear. "Perhaps in a few more meetings, we will speak of getting you out of those shackles and into the sunlight, Arkady."
Jessan pulled away and took a few steps back. A polite bow of her own later, the Mindhealer smiled, soft, to her patient. "I will make sure to set up an appointment in the near future. The pleasure has been mine. Make sure not to head butt your guards, dear." With that, the guard appeared in the doorway. For a brief second, Jessan's mask slipped, a twitch of distaste when the brute towered there. "They're unpleasant, those guards." She murmured, in way of an excuse. It was true. Jessan detested the snarling beasts. The Mindhealer nodded towards to the guards. "Enjoy the rest of your day, Arkady."
